Leaders of the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding.

The signing ceremony was attended by GDVC’s Deputy Director General Hoang Viet Cuong, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Trong Co, Party Committee Secretary, Director of the Academy of Finance, and representatives of the two sides.

Assessing the results of the cooperation between the two units, Deputy Director of the Personnel and Organization Department Bui Ngoc Loi said that over the past five years, the cooperation activities in training and scientific research between the GDVC and the Academy of Finance have been promptly and closely deployed, followed directions and achieved positive results. The cooperation contents stated in the Memorandum of Understanding have been implemented effectively.

Specifically, many activities have achieved positive results in fields such as cooperation and support in training and scientific research.

Specifically, in terms of cooperation and training support, based on the request of the Academic of Finance, annually, the GDVC sends some experts to teach training courses on customs operations for lecturers of the Customs and Tax Faculty. The GDVC has facilitated the academy’s teachers to participate in short-term training courses taught by foreign experts on customs operations (risk management, customs value, intellectual property).

In addition, some local customs departments and the GDVC’s departments have created conditions for the academy’s lecturers and students to practice customs operations at some customs branches and departments. Especially, every year, Ha Noi Customs Department and some of the GDVC’s departments have arranged for students majoring in Customs to practice at their customs branches.

GDVC and Academy of Finance continue to expand cooperation in training
Deputy Director General Hoang Viet Cuong appreciated cooperation results between the two units.

Annually, the GDVC awards many scholarships to students majoring in Customs with academic results from excellent or higher.

The two sides have cooperated to organize seminars to exchange experiences on building training strategies, organizing training, student management, applying pedagogical skills, modern teaching methods, especially, applying e-learning on multimedia information platforms.

Over the past five years, the academy has also coordinated with the GDVC in introducing students with academic results from excellent or higher for the GDVC to select and recruit for working in customs authorities in accordance with State regulations.

However, besides achieved results, the cooperation between the two units still has some limitations in information exchange; organizing seminars, scientific forums; building programs, compiling documents for training; andthe two units have not yet coordinated effectively to build a mechanism to select, recruit, and attract students majoring in Customs with excellent academic results to work at the Customs authorities.

GDVC and Academy of Finance continue to expand cooperation in training
Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Co, Party Committee Secretary, Director of Academy of Finance, gave a statement at the signing ceremony.

To continue strengthening cooperation between the two units, contributing to the effective implementation of the tasks assigned by the Ministry of Finance, the two units agreed to continue cooperation overthe next five years.

At the signing of the memorandum of understanding, Deputy Director General Hoang Viet Cuong and Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Co, Party Committee Secretary, Director of Academy of Finance, emphasized that this is a necessary period for the two sides to reassess the results of the cooperation in the past five years as well as the orientations for the next period. In particular, with the functions and tasks of the two units, the needs and potentials are still great.

Accordingly, the cooperation plan for 2020-2025 between the GDVC and the Academy of Finance focuses on improving the quality of training and improving operational skills of lecturers and students of the Academy of Finance, as well ascustoms officers.

Building a brand for Customs specialized training at the Academy, providing high-quality output products for the Customs sector, contributing to the creation and building of a contingent of Customs officerswith qualification and capacity meeting the requirements of the customs sector in the customs modernization process.

With that motto, in the near future, the two sides continue to maintain and expand cooperation activities, support training and retraining.
