Nearly 195,000 billion vnd collected by Customs over the past 9 months

Particularly in September 2016, the revenue collected by Customs estimated 20.5 thousand billion vnd, reducing by 2,218 billion vnd compared to the previous month. The reduction in September 2016 derived from a decrease in the turnover of certain commodities of high revenue in comparison with the preceding month. The details are as follows: automobiles of all kinds went down by 6.4% in quantity and 24.2% in value; machinery, equipment, tools, spares reduced by 7.9%; chemicals decreased by 7.9%. This has had great impact on Customs’ revenue collection in September.
However, generally during the last 9 months, despite some imports decreasing, some imported commodities have been increasing in comparison with the same period of the previous year such as computers, electronic products and spares (increasing by 16.9%), steel of all kinds (by 24.2% in quantity and 1.9% in value); plastic material (by 18.3% in quantity and 2.9% in value); other metal (by 17.3%); chemical products (9.1%)…
The total value of imports and exports nationwide reached $US 90.97 billion, rising by 4.6% compared to the previous month and increasing by 6.9% in comparison with the third quarter of the year 2015. Of this, the whole amount of exports estimated $US 46 billion, going up by 5% compared to the preceding quarter and jumping by 8.3% in comparison with the third quarter of the year 2015. The entire value of imports is estimated at $US 44.97 billion, increasing by 4.1% compared to the last quarter and by 5.4% in comparison with the third quarter of the year 2015.
Accordingly, the total value of Viet Nam’s imports and exports is estimated at $US 253.65 billion, increasing by 4% compared to the same period of the year 2015 for the past 9 months in 2016. Viet Nam’s trade balance is estimated at nearly $US 1.04 billion in surplus in the third quarter of the year 2016. Hence, export surplus has increased by $US 2.77 billion over the first 9 months of 2016. Fraud has contributed to the State revenue collected by Customs during the first 9 months of 2016. Particularly, in September 2016, anti-smuggling forces of Customs have played the leading role and coordinated with related forces to detect and seize an amount of 11,972 cases worth 348.324 billion vnd, collecting 108.776 billion vnd for the State revenue. Post clearance audit units numbers were 5,149 cases, collecting 1,396 billion vnd for the State revenue.
In the remaining months, in order to accomplish the targets in terms of revenue collection, the General Department of Customs has requested its units to concentrate on revenue collection measures. Of these, certain measures for anti-loss in revenue such as struggling against losses in revenue in terms of quantity, valuation, HS codes and duty collection management measures.
