Vietnam Customs directs to follow the progress of aviation projects closely

Recently, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has coordinated and consulted with Vietnam Airports Corporation - Joint Stock Company (ACV) in implementing projects such as Long Thanh - Dong Nai International Airport; International Cargo Terminal - Da Nang International Airport; International Cargo Terminal - Cat Bi airport - Hai Phong; International passenger terminal T2 - Noi Bai International Airport - Hanoi.

To ensure the construction and design of cargo terminals and passenger terminals, especially the areas for carrying out customs procedures, customs inspection and supervision, the General Department of Vietnam Customs requested the Customs Departments of provinces and cities to establish a Working Group to regularly discuss and work with the Project Management Board.

Grasping the situation and progress of project implementation to ensure the arrangement of areas for implementing customs procedures and installation locations of machinery and equipment to serve customs inspection and supervision complying with regulations. The General Department of Vietnam Customs and Vietnam Airports Corporation has agreed upon the planning and construction design of the cargo terminal and passenger terminal. At the same time, identifying specific responsibilities, tasks and types of machinery and equipment provided by the Customs office or the investor.

Based on construction progress, planning and forecasts of the flow of import and export goods, passengers and means of transport on entry and exit, provincial and city customs departments proactively plan and adjust the organizational structure and personnel complying with regulations, prepare infrastructure, working conditions, propose the need to equip machinery and equipment for customs inspection and supervision. Ensuring task requirements are met as soon as the project completes the upgrade or is put into operation and use, and sends it to the General Department of Vietnam Customs for consideration and preparation of a recruitment project, additional staffing, and human resource training and arrange budget estimates, organize procurement bidding complying with regulations.

The General Department of Vietnam Customs also said that for the Long Thanh International Airport project, Decision No. 881/QD-TCHQ dated April 4, 2024 was issued, to strengthen the Project Implementation Working Group. Therefore, Dong Nai Customs Department coordinates with units under the General Department of Vietnam Customs to implement the tasks stated in Decision No. 881/QD-TCHQ.
