According to the latest preliminary statistics of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, by the end of April, Vietnam's exports to the Chinese market saw a year-on-year increase of 10.9% to US$ 17.7 billion.

China continues to be Vietnam's second largest export market (behind the US market).

Notably, five Vietnam’s commodities exports to the reached the turnover of US$ 1 billion or more, increasing by three commodities compared to the same period in 2023.

Three commodities with the export turnover of US$ 1 billion or more included cameras, camcorders and components at US$ 1.88 billion (up102.8%); fruits and vegetables reached at US$1.16 billion (up 44.6%); machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts at more than US$ 1 billion (up 7%).

The remaining two commodities are computers, electronic products and components at US$3.98 billion (up 23.5%); phones and components at US$3.47 billion (down 14%).

Among the major export products, phones and components are the only products with a decrease in turnover compared to the same period last year. This also causes phones and components to lose their position as Vietnam's largest export products to China.
