That is the direction of the leader of the General Department of Customs at the Conference to summarize the performance of the first six months of the year and deploy tasks in the last six months of 2024 organized by the Party Committee of Quang Ninh Customs Department.

In the first 6 months of 2024, Quang Ninh Customs Department processed 81,122 declarations of all types, recorded a turnover of US$9.56 billion of 1,390 import-export enterprises, up 31% in the number of declarations, 26% in turnover, and 23% in the number of enterprises year-on-year.

The unit collected VND9,569.1 billion, up 22.33% year-on-year, reaching 73.61% of the targets assigned by the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Quang Ninh province and the 2024 revenue scenario (VND13,000 billion).

In addition, the Department presided over the arrest of 151 cases, worth VND5.2 billion (an increase of 23.7% in number of cases and 56.6% in value year-on-year; coordinated with other forces to seize 68 cases, worth VND5 billion.

Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Customs Department Tran Quang Trung emphasized that in the first half of 2024, closely following the direction of the Central Government, ministries, agencies, Quang Ninh province, and Party Committee, Quang Ninh Customs Department continue to develop the results achieved from the previous years, proactively grasp and closely forecast the situation, issue 1 Resolution, 3 Directives, 7 Programs and Action Plans, 3 Instructions, 2 Regulations, 37 Plans for fully and synchronously implementing the Resolution and Action Program on directions and key tasks of 2024.

The Party Committee has been consolidated and continued to promote solidarity and democracy; with political determination and high unity in direction and administration, strict compliance with meeting, inspection and reporting regimes according to working regulations and innovation in style and routine to improve synchronous efficiency in the fields of ideological work and communication; personnel organization and management; maintained activities of public relations, internal affairs, Party Committee offices as well as guided agencies and people to play a good role in supervision and criticism, focusing on improving the leadership capacity and fighting power of the party committees, party organizations, and the quality of party cadres and members. Paying attention to directing party inspection, supervision and discipline activities, associated with internal inspection and specific internal controls of the Customs sector, proactively preventing corruption and negativity, practicing thrift and combating waste, which have been appreciated by the inspection, supervision, and working delegations of superiors.

Speaking at the Conference, Ms. Trinh Thi Minh Thanh - Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the positive results that the Party Committee and Quang Ninh Customs Department have achieved in the first half of the year, comprehensively completing targets and goals set at the beginning of 2024 at the highest level.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee acknowledged the creative and flexible leadership, direction, and administration of the Party Committee and leaders of Quang Ninh Customs Department, especially in internal inspection and supervision, meetings, dialogues to solving difficulties for businesses and digital transformation.

It is recommended that the Party Committee and Quang Ninh Customs Department continue to promote the results achieved, focus on synchronous and effective implementation of tasks, and strive to fulfill the highest targets and annual plans in 2024, especially revenue targets; strive to maintain the top position on the DDCI rankings of departments, divisions and branches of the province. Maintaining coordination between the Party Committee of the Customs Department and the Party Committee of the Tax Department, Border Guard, and Provincial Police to achieve efficiency in the fight against smuggling and trade fraud; preventing the formation of hot spots and rings of smugglings, and illegal transportation of goods through the area, especially on the sea route.

At the conference, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs Luu Manh Tuong recognized and praised the results that the Quang Ninh Customs Department, especially in trade facilitation.

Deputy Director General Luu Manh Tuong requested that, in the second half of 2024, Quang Ninh Customs Department needs to continue to drastically implement solutions to excellently and comprehensively complete the 2024 mission targets; which focuses on implementing the task of building a digital border gate; striving to complete and exceed assigned budget revenue targets, contributing to the overall achievements of the entire Customs sector and Quang Ninh province.

Accepting the instructions, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of Quang Ninh Customs Department Nguyen Van Nghien said that the department will continue to closely follow the directions of all levels, especially the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee and General Department of Customs, focusing on leadership and direction and continuing to synchronously and effectively deploy resolutions, directives, and conclusions of the Central and Provincial Party Committee, build the Party Committee and the Provincial Customs Department to be clean, strong, and comprehensive in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization and personnel, and constantly improve the Party's leadership capacity and fighting power.
