Quang Ninh Customs fiercely fights against vape smuggling

VCN - Quang Ninh Customs Department has requested customs branches to focus on directing teams and working groups to strengthen the fight against smuggling of electronic cigarettes (referred to as vape) and heated cigarettes.

Accordingly, Quang Ninh Customs required units to strictly implement customs procedures, strengthen inspection and strict supervision of imported and exported goods, temporarily imported and re-exported goods, deposited in bonded warehouses, and transit goods, checked baggage and carry-on luggage of sailors, aircrew, passengers on entry and exit, and means of transport on entry and exit to prevent smuggling and illegal transportation of vape and heated cigarettes from occurring through border gates and other areas within the customs operating area.

Customs Enforcement Teams strengthen the application of professional customs control measures, firmly grasp information on the situation of areas and subjects; and proactively coordinate with customs forces at border gates and competent forces on border lines to deploy measures to prevent, stop, detect and strictly handle acts of smuggling and illegal transportation of vape and heated cigarettes.

The Drugs Enforcement Team strengthens information collection, deploys professional measures, and coordinates with competent forces to focus on fighting, detecting, and arresting traffickers that transport, and mix banned substances into vape solutions and heated cigarettes for disposal complying with legal regulations.

At the same time, requesting units to proactively coordinate with the Fatherland Front, local mass organizations, press and media agencies to promote dissemination for the people, especially teenagers about the harmful effects of using vape and heated tobacco.
