Hai Phong Customs’ revenue rises about VND 1,000 billion

The representative of Hai Phong Customs Department said that in January 2025, the department collected VND 6,155 billion in the revenue, reaching 8.55% of the estimate.
Notably, the revenue in January increased by VND 883 billion (or 16.7%) compared to the same period in 2024.
In January 2025, the Department processed 215,997 import-export declarations, decreasing by 4.04% year-on-year and 17.75% month-on-month, including 113,558 import declarations and 102,439 export declarations at customs branches under Hai Phong Customs Department.
The Exporting Processing Zone and Industrial Zone Customs Branch processed the largest number of import-export declarations with 52,512 declarations. Zone 1st Hai Phong Seaport Customs Branch processed 3,767 declarations.
In January, the total import-export turnover processed at Hai Phong Customs Department reached US$9.65 billion, down 16.81% year-on-year and down 6.4% month-on-month.
Export turnover reached US$4.96 billion, falling 15.36% compared to the previous month and 4.6% compared to the same period in 2024. Notably, taxable export turnover gained US$20.03 million, dropping 32.61% compared to the previous month and 59.8% compared to the same period in 2024.
The import turnover achieved US$ 4.688 billion, declining 18.29% month-on-month and 8.2% year-on-year. Of which, taxable import turnover reached US$1.82 billion, decreasing by 24.85% compared to the previous month and 3.6% compared to the same period in 2024.

Recently, Hai Phong Customs Department has issued Directive No. 624/CT-HQHP on drastically implementing solutions to facilitate trade, improve the effectiveness of state management, and strive to accomplish the revenue collection in 2025.
In Directive No. 624, Hai Phong Customs Department sets out 8 general tasks to implement at its subordinate units and 7 specific tasks to implement at branches in the revenue task.
The new point in the Directive is that from the beginning of the year, customs branches has developed monthly state revenue collection plan for 2025 with criteria for expected revenue (not lower than the average assigned revenue) and targeted revenue (exceeding at least 10% compared to 2024 and not lower than expected revenue).
Based on the assigned targets, units will regularly monitor and grasp the situation and fluctuations affecting revenue sources to proactively provide solutions in line the arising realities; and enhance responsibility of cadres and civil servants in performing their duties; and strive to excellently complete the task in 2025.
