Importing and exporting goods ebulliently at the pontoon bridge of Km3+4 Mong Cai

VCN – Although it has been newly operating for only 2 months (from 7/3/2018), the clearance point at the pontoon bridge of Km3+4 (Hai Yen, Mong Cai, Quang Ninh province) is the destination of tens of enterprises for exporting agriculture through the area.

Present at the clearance point at the pontoon bridge on the morning of 15/4, Customs News reporter found that the import and export activities are quite ebullient. At the cargo gathering area, cargoes are loading and unloading continuously and then transferred to small trucks for transporting to China.

On average, there are about 20 to 30 containers, equivalent to 400-600 tons of fruits and seafood exported through this area.

Some Customs officers of Mong Cai Customs Branch (Quang Ninh Customs Department) said that the import and export activities through the area is happening 24/24. Therefore, the Customs Branch has assigned enough Customs officials and civil servants to implement duties (3 shifts per day) in order to supervise and solve procedures.

In order to attract enterprises to participate in implementing procedures in the area, and at open road Km3 + 4 in particular, besides the VNACCS / VCIS system, the Branch has introduced many internal management software programs (software for cargo management of border residents) to facilitate the process of inspection and supervision, thereby shortening the time for carrying out procedures for enterprises.

The Branch also coordinates closely with competent agencies (Border Defense, Quarantine) to ensure the smooth process of inspection and supervision of goods.

Currently, the pontoon bridge Km3 + 4 is attracting dozens of enterprises to open declarations for agricultural products (dragon fruit, watermelon, jackfruit, shrimp, fish ...) to export to China. In addition, many businesses have come to survey, find partners to export goods through the area.

The pontoon bridge project contributes to overcome the overload of goods transported across the border river by minimizing the means of navigation on the border river when being dependent on the tide, and minimizing the direct impact of weather conditions for cargo operations.

Furthermore, the project of building a temporary pontoon bridge across the Ka Long River was put into use with a total investment of nearly 160 billion VND. A pontoon bridge has a length of 114m; width of 12m; standard dimensions of pontoon bridges, auxiliary buoys 12x3x1.5m; 60 ton design load, including two lanes.

Along with Bac Luan 1 and 2 bridges, pontoon bridges would promote the circulation, export and import of goods through Mong Cai - Dong Hung border gate, especially for fruit, agricultural products, seafood, ornamental plants, furniture...

The reporter of Customs News recorded some pictures of import-export activities through the pontoon bridge Km3 + 4:
