Drug trafficking ring busted

VCN - Law enforcement agencies of Thanh Hoa province have busted a drug trafficking ring moving large quantities from Laos to Vietnam for consumption.

On June 11, law enforcement forces of Thanh Hoa province including Drug-related crime investigation police division, Border Guard, Customs, arrested two suspects: Le Dinh Tien, 39, and Tran Trong Khanh, 36, for illegal transportation of 3,057 tablets of synthetic drugs.

Expanding the investigation, the Police arrested Luong Van Nhan and seized other exhibits related to the trafficking and transportation of drugs.

Currently, the Drug-related crime investigation police division has issued a decision to arrest the three suspects and will continue to investigate the case.

According to Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, Le Dinh Tien is a driver of Hoang Thai garage; the car owner is Hoang Thi Thai, who was arrested by Thanh Hoa Police in May 2022. After Hoang Thi Thai was arrested, Le Dinh Tien and Tran Trong Khanh colluded with Luong Van Nhan (born in 1986, in Tam Thanh commune, Quan Son district) to set up a synthetic drug trafficking ring from Laos to Vietnam for consumption, led by Tien and Khanh.
