Prosecuting a trafficking case of drug hidden in air compressors from France to Vietnam

Drugs hidden in air compressor tanks.

The leader of the Drug Enforcement Team (Hanoi Customs Department) informed that the Hanoi Customs Department coordinated with the Hanoi City Police to dismantle a trafficking ring of drug disguised in air compressors from France to Vietnam.

Specifically, regarding the fighting and prosecuting process, the Hanoi City Police reported that on July 17, 2024, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Division (Hanoi City Police) coordinated with the Hanoi Customs Department to inspect a shipment of five air compressors suspected of containing synthetic drugs.

Through inspection, the forces seized nearly 19 kg of MDMA.

Through verification, on the afternoon of July 17, 2024, in the area of Nhan Hoa Street, Nhan Chinh Ward, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi, the working group of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Division arrested the suspect related to the above shipment, Le Thanh Th. (born in 1993; permanent residence in Hoa Phuoc, Hoa Vang, Da Nang; temporary residence at Nhan Chinh, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi) and initially clarified his illegal act of drug transportation.

Based on the investigation documents, the City Police Investigation Agency has issued a decision to prosecute Le Thanh Th. for the crime of illegal transportation of drugs.
