Quang Binh Customs arrests two suspects carrying 26 kg of drugs

Previously, on September 13, 2024, on National Highway 1A, through Sen Thuong 1 village, Sen Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (PC04), Quang Binh Police coordinated with the Customs Enforcement Team and authorities to stop and arrest Huyen when he was sitting in the passenger seat of a TOYOTA car with license plate 73A-30162, driven by Tran Quy Mao (born in 1986, residing in Hai Thanh ward, Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh) from the South to the North.

When checking the trunk of the car, the authorities discovered two bags of green sedge. Inside were 43 yellow rectangular packages and a plastic bag containing two smaller bags with tea leaf patterns. The total seized amount of drugs was up to 26kg, including 24kg of amphetamin pills and 2kg of ketamine.

In addition, inside the storage compartment on the passenger door, where Huyen was sitting, there was a hidden pistol with seven bullets.

Through investigation, Huyen admitted that he had moved to the Bo Y international border gate (Kon Tum) to buy drugs for trading. While on the way to transport the goods to Quang Binh, he was discovered and arrested by the authorities.

During the information exchange, the Customs Enforcement Team of the Quang Binh Customs Department coordinated with PC04 of Quang Binh Police to monitor all actions of Nguyen Xuan Huyen (born in 1987, residing in Tran Xa village, Ham Ninh commune, Quang Ninh district).

Accordingly, since the beginning of 2024, Huyen has entered and exited Vietnam four times through the Cha Lo international border gate, and the most recent time was on August 26, 2024 when he left for Laos, then re-entered Vietnam on September 2, 2024.

Continuing to monitor, the forces discovered Huyen moving into Kon Tum province, suspecting that he planned to receive goods in this area, so the authorities closely monitored and prepared a plan to capture the suspect.

The case is being further investigated and handled by PC04.
