Hanoi City Police reported, on February 20, 2024, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Division coordinated with professional units of the Ministry of Public Security, the City Police and the Hanoi Customs force to detect a group showing signs of drug trafficking from the Czech Republic to Vietnam and deployed a plan to arrest the group.

On the night of February 23, in the area of ​​lane 206 Thanh Binh Street (Mo Lao Ward, Ha Dong District, Hanoi), the working group arrested the Ban Nguyen Quang An (residing in Mo Lao, Ha Dong, Hanoi), and seized a box containing more than 2.3 kg of MDMA which was mixed dog and cat food.

Quang An confessed that he was hired for 10 million VND to transport the above drugs to Nguyen Dinh Hoan (residing in Van Ninh, Gia Binh, Bac Ninh). Immediately after that, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Division arrested Nguyen Dinh Hoan.

At the police station, Hoan confessed that he knew a man named Tran Danh Thong (residing in Dai Lai, Gia Binh, Bac Ninh) and on February 23, 2024, he was hired by Thong to receive a package (containing drugs) from Hanoi, for a fee of VND5 million.

Based on the collected documents, the police arrested Tran Danh Thong. Thong confessed that he was hired by people in Europe to transport above drugs to Vietnam.

On February 29, 2024, the Hanoi City Police Investigation Agency issued a Decision to prosecute the accused Ban Nguyen Quang An, Nguyen Dinh Hoan, and Tran Danh Thong for the crime of illegal transportation of drugs.

The Investigation Police Agency has completed the investigation process and concluded the investigation of the case, proposing to prosecute three defendants Ban Nguyen Quang An, Nguyen Dinh Hoan and Tran Danh Thong for the crime of Illegally transporting drugs.
