"Knock on doors" and listen to businesses

Evaluating the effect of the global and domestic socio-economic fluctuation on the production, business and import-export activities of enterprises, right from the beginning of the year 2023, Bac Ninh Customs Department has proposed solutions to support and remove difficulties for businesses, facilitate and promote import and export activities.

To bring business support into reality, based on the Plan to develop Customs - Businesses and related parties’ partnership in 2023, many working delegations of leaders of Bac Ninh Customs Department have worked with corporations and large businesses. These include: Samsung Group in Vietnam, Hong Hai Foxconn Science and Technology Group; Large textile enterprises in the area such as: TNG Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company, Ha Bac Garment Export Joint Stock Company and Ha Phong Garment Export Joint Stock Company; Yadea Vietnam Electric Motorcycle Co., Ltd. and Boviet Solar Science and Technology Co., Ltd...

During visits to "knock on the doors" of businesses, Customs Magazine reporters had the opportunity to join a number of working groups of the Bac Ninh Customs Department. At each enterprise's headquarters, Customs officers and civil servants are ready to listen, and share difficulties with the enterprises. The working group of leaders of Bac Ninh Customs Department includes officers and civil servants with excellent expertise and skills. Not only listening and sharing difficulties from the business community, the Department's leaders want to immediately and promptly answer problems and work with businesses to find solutions to promote import-export activities in the areas.

Director of Bac Ninh Customs Department Tran Duc Hung shared that direct working sessions with businesses are also an opportunity to acknowledge the assessments and contributions of businesses and corporations on the management of Bac Ninh Customs to the local economic and social development. Not only that, thanks to strengthening the close relationship between Bac Ninh Customs and businesses Customs-Business partnership is considerably improved. Bac Ninh Customs officials and civil servants want to grasp the operating situation of businesses, thereby providing support solutions to promote growth and import and export activities.

One of the supports that Bac Ninh Customs deploys is to help businesses quickly and promptly access newly issued policies and documents, so that businesses understand the benefits of participating in administrative procedure reforms in the field of customs.

In reverse turn, businesses all express their desire to participate in programs carried out by Bac Ninh customs such as: the pilot program to support and encourage businesses to voluntarily comply with the customs law; Customs development strategy until 2030; Digital transformation plan of the Customs sector until 2025...

As shared by Mr. Chau Nghia Van, Deputy General Director of Foreign Affairs of Hong Hai Foxconn Science and Technology Group: In recent times, businesses' problems have always been removed and enthusiastically supported by Bac Ninh Customs officers and civil servants. In the future, the import-export department of the enterprise will coordinate closely with the Customs agency to promptly capture information related to import-export activities. Hopefully, with the efforts of businesses and the support of the Customs agency, the Group will achieve the goals set in the coming years.

Leading in import-export turnover scale

In recent years, Bac Ninh Customs Department has become a bright spot in attracting and promoting investment in the provinces of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, and Thai Nguyen. Typically, in 2022 and 2023, the unit has handled a very large number of declarations, turnover as well as a large number of businesses. Notably, the scale of import-export turnover in the areas managed by the unit is the highest among the provincial and city customs departments.

At the 2023 summary conference, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs Luu Manh Tuong acknowledged that Bac Ninh Customs is not only recognized as customs agencies with a large amount of import and export clearance procedures but is also highly appreciated by the business community in terms of spirit, attitude, and service responsibility. In addition, the Department has made many changes in the collection of business profile information. Import-export enterprises in the management area of Bac Ninh Customs are mainly export processing enterprises. The Deputy Director General noted that the unit should put enterprises under control to both meet the management requirements and create favorable conditions for businesses as well.
