Hai Phong Customs seizes a container of banned goods at port

	Combat smuggling in sea areas of Hai Phong and Thai Binh

The shipment was transported to Hai Phong port area on November 27, 2024.

The bill of lading shows that the shipment was sent from a company located in Tokyo (Japan). The consignee as a company located in Vinh City (Nghe An).

Notably, through inspection, the Customs discovered that the consignee is a newly established company that has never had any import-export activities.

On December 25, Hai Phong Customs (Customs Enforcement Team and Dinh Vu Port Customs Branch) coordinated with the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 and Hai Phong Border Guard to inspect the shipment.

According to the Customs Magazine reporter at the scene, all the cargo in the container were used air conditioners (mainly Toshiba and National air conditioners) that are subject to the list of prohibited imports.

Notably, some products showed the words “use only in Japan”.

The case has been investigated by the enforcement forces.
