Hai Phong Customs processes over 250,000 declarations in November

This result marks a 14.2% increase compared to the same period in 2023 but a 1.82% decrease from the previous month.

Among the declarations, 134,957 were for imports and 117,026 for exports. Among the department's nine subordinate units, Export Processing Zones and Industrial Parks Customs Branch handled the largest volume with 60,894 declarations, while the Hai Phong Port Area 1 Customs Branch recorded the lowest with 4,641 declarations.

In November 2024, the total import-export turnover handled by Hai Phong Customs reached nearly US$11.75 billion, representing a 3.33% decrease compared to the previous month. However, turnover still grew by 6.3% year-on-year.

Exports surpassed US$6 billion, down 4.27% from October but up 7.5% from November 2023. Taxable export turnover reached US$30.26 million, a 15.69% increase from the previous month but a 42.4% decline year-on-year.

Imports totaled nearly US$5.7 billion, a 2.3% drop from October but a 5% increase compared to November 2023. Taxable import turnover amounted to US$2.2 billion, down 3.63% month-on-month but up 12.2% year-on-year.

Key import categories showed notable fluctuations compared to November 2023 as follow: five imported items observed significant increases were cars, with a remarkable growth of 54.1%, reaching US$113.21 million; auto parts, which climbed 17% to US$45.13 million; motorcycles, which surged 46.5% to US $3.68 million; motorcycle parts, which increased by 22.9%, totaling US $2.3 million; steel imports, which edged up 6.6%, amounting to US $381.42 million.

Meanwhile, sharp declines were noted in petroleum imports, which fell by 13.8% to US $22.1 million; alcoholic beverages, which dropped 24.6%, totaling US $2.68 million; cosmetics, which declined by 20.8% to US $1.2 million; machinery and equipment, which saw a moderate decline of 3%, totaling US $2.33 billion.

As of November 30, 2024, Hai Phong Customs collected VND69.245 trillion, achieving 104.14% of the assigned target and a 15.34% increase (equivalent to VND9.21 trillion) year-on-year.

Accordingly, revenue collection of Hai Phong region reached VND60.134 trillion, meeting 102.2% of the estimated target (VND58.8 trillion) and 100.22% of the Hai Phong People's Council’s aspirational target (VND60 trillion). This marked an increase of VND7.554 trillion VND (grew by 14.37%).

Revenue collection of three provinces (Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Thai Binh) totaled VND9.111 trillion, exceeding the target by 18.5% and showing a robust growth of 22.2%, equivalent to an additional VND 1.656 trillion.

Several customs branches played a pivotal role in achieving the revenue targets: The Hai Phong Port Area 1 Customs Branch contributed VND20.045 trillion, accounting for 33.3% of total revenue; Hai Phong Port Area 3 Customs Branch generated VND13.770 trillion, contributing 22.9%; Dinh Vu Port Customs Branch collected VND10.157 trillion, representing 16.9%; Investment and Processing Customs Branch contributed VND 7.745 trillion, accounting for 12.8%.

Hai Phong Customs is committed to maintaining its momentum and achieving its year-end state budget targets as assigned by the General Department of Vietnam Customs and the Hai Phong People’s Council.
