Earlier, Nghe An Provincial Police discovered a transnational drug trafficking ring from European countries via air way to Vietnam for distribution to retailers. This ring was led by Le Tien Duc.

During the inspection, enforcement authorities have faced difficulties because smugglers have used sophisticated methods such as transporting drugs to Vietnam by mixing in cosmetic packages to avoid detection of the enforcement forces; failing to state the name of the consignee; implementing transaction via social networking applications (telegram, viber...) with high security; regularly changing the location of delivery of “goods” ...

After receiving information that the smugglers will send a shipment containing a large volume of synthetic drugs transported from European countries to Vietnam via air. After customs clearance, the cargo will be transported to Nghe An via express delivery service. Therefore, the police implemented a plan to bust the case.

At about 10:00 p.m. on December 14, 2024, in Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district, Dien Chau district, the police arrested Le Tien Duc while he was transporting packages of products (shampoo, conditioner, hair mask...), containing two kg of synthetic drugs, to transport to the home for storage and wait for consumption.

During the arrest, Duc fought back fiercely and tried to run away. However, the working Team quickly controlled and arrested him.

At the headquarters of the Police, Le Tien Duc said that the drugs were sent by Vietnamese subjects living and working in European countries to him for consumption.

On December 17, Dien Chau District Police arrested Nguyen Thi Thuong, born in 2000, residing in Ha Huy Tap Ward, Vinh City, for illegal possession of drugs; and seized 18.98 grams of crystal meth and 2.5 grams of synthetic drugs.

Currently, the case is being investigated for handling.
