Customs sector has settled and collected 831.91 billion VND of tax debt

In the first 6 months, the debt collection has been resolutely implementing many solutions by the General Department of Vietnam Customs, including the issuance of Decision No. 866/QD-TCHQ dated 23/3/2018 about assigning target on collecting and settling overdue tax debts in 2018 for units; Decision No. 1503/QD-TCHQ dated 18/05/2018 on the process of management of tax debts and other revenues for export and import goods.

At the same time, concentrating on reviewing and grasping the tax debts situation of the provincial customs departments; to classify the groups of debt with the capability to collect and the irrecoverable debts, each group of debts should have specific evaluation for each item, each declaration form and each enterprise.

Therefore, the amount of money collected from tax debt via settlement under Decision 866 / QD-TCHQ dated 23/3/2018 is: 326.06 billion VND, reaching 51.75% of the plan for 2018 (630.1 billion VND) .

In particular, some units have achieved a 100% tax recovery amount, including Customs Department: Quang Ninh, Ha Nam Ninh, Nghe An, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc.

However, there are some units that have a low amount of tax recovery of below 20%, including: Post-clearance audit department; Customs Departments such as: Lao Cai, Lang Son, Bac Ninh, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Quang Nam. The reasons are that the enterprises intentionally delay paying tax; showing signs of tax evasion; do not cooperate with the competent authorities in debt collection...

In order to continue to enhance the tax collection of outstanding debts in the last months of the year, Customs authorities will coordinate with the concerned units to collect tax arrears in accordance with the provisions of Article 53.54.55 and 56 of the Tax Administration Law, amending and supplementing a number of provisions on tax collection and remission in the Tax Administration Law.
