The upgrade is planed in December

October 29, Director of Cao Bang Customs Department Le Viet Phong said that Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Anh chaired a meeting with leaders of departments and local government agencies, and Trung Khanh district on the preparation and implementation of procedures to upgrade Tra Linh Border Gate to an international border gate, and to meet operational requirement of Na Doong Border Crossing (Tra Linh district), including contents related to Customs control.

At the meeting, leaders of departments and agencies reported on the preparation on legal procedures and infrastructure at Tra Linh (Cao Bang) - Long Bang (China) International Border Gate and Na Doong Border Crossing.

At the meeting, Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Anh affirmed the importance of upgrading Tra Linh Border Gate to an International Border Gate. At the same time, he said that this is a big and very meaningful event for Cao Bang province, opening up many new development opportunities for the border trade economy, especially the transit of goods across the third country.

Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee directed inter-sectoral forces, especially the Customs administration, to promptly propose the General Department of Vietnam Customs to provide new equipment to serve work and maximize IT application in customs performance, meet requirements of infrastructure, gradually establish a green and clean border gate system with the goal of quick and effective customs clearance; meet conditions to ensure the official operation of Tra Linh Border Gate as an International Border Gate and expand the scope of the border gate to Na Doong Border Crossing in December 2023...

Director of Cao Bang Customs Department Le Viet Phong said that after participating in the working session of leaders of Cao Bang province, the department has thoroughly followed direction of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and promptly reported to the General Department of Vietnam Customs on related contents.

Cao Bang has three international border gates

Regarding the border gate system in Cao Bang province, the border gate planning on the Vietnam - China land border in the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 (in Decision 1199/QD-TTg dated October 14, 2023 of the Prime Minister) said that open and upgrade 8 international border gates, 9 bilateral border gates, 17 customs clearance routes, specialized roads for transporting goods of international border gate pair, bilateral border gates and one border crossing, and special border gate.

Among the 8 international border gates opened and upgraded during this period, Cao Bang has three international border gates including: Ly Van (Cao Bang) - Thac Long (Guangxi, China); Ta Lung (Cao Bang) - Thuy Khau (Guangxi); Tra Linh (Cao Bang) - Long Bang (Guangxi).

Among 9 bilateral border gate pairs, Cao Bang has two border gates including: Ha Lang (Cao Bang) - Khoa Giap (Guangxi); Po Peo (Cao Bang) - Nhac Vu (Guangxi).

Among the 17 customs clearance routes and specialized roads for transporting goods of international border gate pairs and bilateral border gates, Cao Bang has four customs clearance routes including:

Customs clearance route and specialized roads for transporting goods Na Doong - Na Ray under the International Border Gate pair of Tra Linh (Cao Bang) - Long Bang (Guangxi);

Customs clearance route, specialized road for transporting goods at Ta Lung II bridge under the International Border Gate pair of Ta Lung (Cao Bang) - Thuy Khau (Guangxi);

Customs clearance route and specialized roads for transporting goods at Ban Khoong - Nham Ung under the International Border Gate pair of Ly Van (Cao Bang) - Thac Long (Guangxi);

Customs clearance route and specialized roads for transporting goods under the Bilateral Border Gate pair of Soc Giang (Cao Bang) - Binh Mang (Guangxi).

Among localities bordering China (Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien), Cao Bang is the province with the longest border with more than 330 km.

In Resolution 66/NQ-CP dated September 5, 2019, the Government approved the upgrade of the bilateral border gate of Tra Linh (Vietnam) - Long Bang (China) to an international border gate.

At the same time, the Government assigned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the People's Committee of Cao Bang province and relevant agencies to carry out procedures as per the provisions of the Government Decree No. 112/2014/ND-CP dated December 21, 2014. November 2014.
