The conference, chaired by Nguyen Van Tho, General Director of Vietnam Customs, included the participation of Deputy General Directors Dinh Ngoc Thang, Au Anh Tuan, and Tran Duc Hung, alongside representatives from various departments and divisions under the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
During the conference, participants reviewed central and government directives, as well as Ministry of Finance guidelines, to implement and summarize Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW on plans and directions for streamlining and reorganizing the apparatus.
Reports presented at the meeting included draft plans for reorganizing the Customs structure; amendments to personnel management decentralization; organizational models for Party units; proposed revisions, supplements, and replacements of legal documents; upgrades to information technology systems; arrangements for infrastructure, asset management, and financial operations.
The overarching goal is to ensure the readiness of regulatory and IT systems to support the new organizational structure, minimizing disruption to import-export activities once the model is officially implemented.
