Declarations and turnover of imported and exported goods processed by Lao Bao Customs surge

The total volume of imported and exported goods increases by 44.81% year-on-year to 998.48 thousand tons.

As of November 30, Lao Bao Border Gate Customs Branch earned the revenue of VND389.47 billion, increasing by 20.75% compared to the same period in 2023, exceeding 6.7% of the assigned target and reaching 89.12% of the ambitious target (VND 437 billion).

The Branch collected VND566.67 million in tax debts and VND 89.26 million in late payment fees from Trung Son Gia Lai One Member Co., Ltd. (this is a bad debt arising from 2001).

The Branch processed 22,405 transit declarations, up 24.63%. The total value of transit goods reached US$7.48 billion, up 11.86%. The volume of transit goods dropped 8.73% year-on-year to 2.64 million tons.

The number of vehicles exiting and entering across the border gate grew 11.99% to 208,798 vehicles.

There are about 630 vehicles exiting and entering across the border gate on average each day. The total number of passengers exiting and entering across the border gate increased by 18.25% to 555,231 passengers compared to 2023.

To ensure smooth customs clearance, Lao Bao Border Gate Customs Branch has processed customs procedures for imports and exports and exit and entry transports.

In the work of supervision and management, the Branch regularly disseminates and guides teams and officers to process procedures in line with regulations on goods, vehicles, and passengers moving across the border gate.

The branch regularly reviews the implementation of customs procedures for each specific type of goods.

The teams and groups proactively review the results of daily work to promptly detect shortcomings in the procedures and report to the branch’s leaders for timely remedial measures.

Additionally, the branch regularly monitors, reviews, and promptly informs the two Customs Enforcement Teams to strictly control high-risk transit shipments that are smuggled into the country; arranges experienced officials to conduct physical inspections for complex goods such as wood of all kinds, and strictly processes procedures for the items.

At the same time, the branch coordinates with the customs branches where the goods are departed and arrived to control and monitor the actual status of the shipments under customs supervision.

The branch implements information collection, assessment, analysis, and application of risk management methods before, during, and after customs clearance to identify high-risk shipments, enterprises, and types.

The branch promotes the IT application to directly monitor and supervise goods and vehicles entering the border gate; takes measures to direct teams and groups in handling procedures as well as applying inspection and control methods.

In addition to facilitating import-export, exit-entry and transit activities, Lao Bao Border Gate Customs Branch strengthens control, information collection and processing, and combats smuggling, trade fraud, and illegal transportation of goods, weapons, and drugs across the border.

The Branch has presided over and coordinated with relevant forces to detect and arrest 2 cases/2 subjects transporting prohibited goods, and seized 206 kg of fireworks and 2.2 kg of firecrackers; 1 case of illegal gold transportation across the border, weighing 1,167 kg, worth more than VND2.18 billion.
