At the signing ceremony, Director General Nguyen Van Can highly appreciate the technical support from New Zealand Customs to Vietnam Customs for 3 fields approved in the cooperation program: 1) advance ruling, (2) code classification and application and (3) AEO management and implementation.
These contents aim to help Vietnam Customs develop capacity and ensure state revenues and compliance of commitments related to trade facilitation. The Director-General Director is also committed to directing units of Vietnam Customs units to work with the experts of New Zealand Customs to perform activities effectively, bringing actual benefits to Vietnam Customs.
Earlier, at the dialogue with the Acting Director General of New Zealand Customs, the two sides reviewed and assessed the results of bilateral cooperation over the last time and discussed measures to support each other in the field of Customs in accordance with signed agreements in 2010.
The cooperation fields focus on exchanging and sharing information and strengthening cooperation, support for the fight against smuggling, and drug trafficking, violations of intellectual property rights and violations of Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
At the dialogue, the two sides agreed on the cooperation on multilateral forums such as: World Customs Organization, World Trade Organization and negotiation and implementation of free trade agreements.
The Director-General Nguyen Van Can also thanks New Zealand Customs for its close cooperation with Vietnam Customs in hosting Customs conferences and dialogues in Vietnam APEC 2017.

In this visit, the Director-General and the working delegation of Vietnam Customs plan to visit some operation units of New Zealand Customs on inspection and control of imported and exported goods.
