Threatening Customs officers performing anti-smuggling

According to Toan, from the beginning of the year to now, the anti-smuggling and illegal transportation of animal viscera has been drastically implemented. Since the beginning of the year, the Branch tackled six smuggling cases of animal viscera, and onon August 6, the branch seized 500 kg of smuggled animal viscera.

Smugglers are more and more reckless and fight against competent forces. From the arrest on August 6, on August 10, at the Entry Gate (B4) of warehouse of Xuan Cuong Co.,Ltd , there were 10 smugglers in a KONANDO car and a SUZUKI car without license plate driven by Vu Manh Hung (nickname Hung Nam) residing in Tam Thanh Ward, Lang Son City who threatened customs officers. After that, these smugglers drove the SUZUKI car opposite to Gate B4 to load smuggled goods into this car.

After the Customs strengthened the force, smugglers stood outside the Customs office to curse.

To ensure safety, Customs officers at this office went to office at Huu Nghi Border Gate, then the KONANDO car suddenly rushed into the office and about 6-7 smugglers shouted at and abused them.

At this time, Hua Quang Huy, Deputy Head of Customs Enforcement and Supervision Team of Huu Nghi Customs Branch, directing customs officers to prevent this situation at Gate B4, was threatened and rushed by the smugglers. In addition, the smugglers assaulted Huy.

Only after the Huu Nghi border gate Customs Department strengthened its forces did the smugglers leave the office. However, they still stood outside the fence to shout.

Talking to Customs News, Huy said from August 6 to 10, he received many calls with cursing, threatening contents.

Need for prompt coordination

According to the investigation of Huu Nghi Customs, Vu Manh Hung is the leader and mastermind of this smuggling group that has operated at Gate B4 of Xuan Cuong warehouse for many years and mainly implemented Illegal cross-border transportation of smuggled animal viscera.

For some time the Border Guard force has not promptly closely coordinated with the Customs force. Specifically, in this case, the Border Guard force did not promptly coordinate with the Customs to prevent the attack on customs officers by smugglers.

Huu Nghi Customs hopes that Border Guard force should protect security at the border gate area, strictly manage people and vehicles on exit and entry the border gate, especially after 9 pm.

In addition, Huu Nghi Customs has proposed the Steering Committee of 389 Cao Loc District to direct Cao Loc District Police to investigate the case, arrest and strictly handle the smugglers.

After the case, the representative of Lang Son Customs Department also said to prevent the establishment of groups and sites for smuggling and illegally transportation of goods across border gate, to strictly handle heads of these groups and suspects fighting against officers performing public service, and promptly deter other smugglers, Lang Son Customs Department proposed the Steering Committee 389 in Lang Son province direct competent authorities to strictly handle suspects who fight against officers performing public service to ensure the security of the border gate area.
