Quang Binh Customs’ revenue increases thank to attracting businesses

Revenue from imported machinery and equipment reaches VND718.6 billion

As of November 15, 295 enterprises carried out customs procedures at Quang Binh province, an increase of 35% compared to the same period in 2023, with the growth of the import and export turnover up to 93.6%. The increase in the number of enterprises has led to the growth of items with high tax rate such as energy drinks, gypsum, and imported machinery and equipment.

The tax revenue from imported machinery and equipment for the Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant Project reached VND 718.6 billion, accounting for 49.6% of the department’s total revenue.

As of November 15, Quang Binh Customs Department collected VND1,448 billion, exceeding 107% of the target (VND 700 billion), up 173% over the same period in 2023.

The department said that, the revenue by the end of December 31 is expected to achieve VND1582 billion, exceeding 126% of the plan.

In order to facilitate import-export and immigration activities across the area, since the beginning of the year, Quang Binh Customs Department has focused on implementing the Customs Law and guiding documents; reviewing and evaluating the Customs Law after 10 years of implementation (2014-2024), promptly reporting difficulties, obstacles and proposing amendments and supplements to the Law towards “building a Customs Law to replace the current Customs Law”, ensuring the completion of the Customs Development Strategy goals to 2030.

The department has developed and effectively implemented the Plan for developing the Customs-Business partnership and related parties in 2024; implementing appropriate policies to attract and support businesses in the customs processes.

Border gate Customs Branches have regularly monitored situation, instructed new polices and dialogued to remove obstacles to help enterprises recover and develop import-export activities, while ensuring state management of customs. The branches have committed to processing customs procedures quickly, in accordance with regulations, and preventing congestions at the border gate, and facilitating import and export, immigration activities across the area...

Quang Binh Customs Department has proactively improved the effectiveness of implementing the National Single Window and ASEAN Single Window in processing administrative procedures; accelerating the digitization of records and results of administrative procedure settlement.

Additionally, the department has focused on training human resources, perfecting the organizational structure to meet the requirements of Customs reform and modernization; strengthening administrative discipline in performing public duties. The department has promoted information dissemination of administrative procedure reform associated with digital transformation, serving people and businesses in import and export, immigration activities.

The promotion of administrative procedure reform by Quang Binh Customs Department has been highly appreciated from the business community, attracting more businesses to carry out customs procedures through the area.

Preventing congestions at the border gate

In the remaining months of the year, Quang Binh Customs Department continues to direct and implement the contents of Directive No. 371/CT-TCHQ dated January 24, 2024 of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, focusing on implementing solutions to effectively collect the state revenue.

The department continues to effectively implement the Customs Law and guiding documents; perform customs procedures, strengthen inspection and supervision; promptly support and resolve difficulties and problems for businesses. The department

proactively grasps the import-export activities of businesses and investment projects in the area to strengthen support and information provision; resolve difficulties and problems for businesses related to customs procedures and tax policies.

At the same time, it improves the efficiency of electronic tax payment and customs clearance 24/7, encourage businesses to implement electronic and authorized tax payment for quick revenue collection and payment. It also strengthens customs inspection and supervision, combat fraud in value, classification, code application, and origin of goods; regularly reviews obstacles and shortcomings to propose to amend and supplement customs documents.

The department promotes administrative reform, creates favorable conditions for budget collection and payment, shortens customs clearance time; deploys supportive solutions to promote production, import and export of businesses; promptly guides and answers questions about customs policies and procedures for businesses.

It strengthens inspection, supervision, and good use of equipment serving the work; carry out customs procedures quickly and in accordance with regulations, avoids congestion at border gates, and facilitates import and export activities.
