Processing 2.62 million declarations
In 2024, Hai Phong Customs Department has directed its subordinate units to strengthen customs supervision and management at all stages such as: promptly proposing amendments and supplements to legal documents; strongly applying information technology, modern equipment (security cameras, electronic seals, etc.) in customs control.
The department has directed customs branches to promote customs control for import and export of some major items.
Strengthen the management and supervision of goods brought in and out of bonded warehouses, CFS warehouses and the period of storage of goods in bonded warehouses.
Check and evaluate the implementation of inspection procedures, confirm the ability to meet the inspection and supervision conditions for warehouse, yard and port operators.
Focus on reviewing pending declarations on the system, on-site import declarations without corresponding export declarations.
Focus on removing difficulties and obstacles for businesses in carrying out customs procedures, facilitating import and export activities, creating conditions for businesses to restore production and business...
As of December 15, Hai Phong Customs Department has processes customs procedures for 2.62 million declarations of 31,325 businesses, an increase of 18% compared to the number of declarations in 2023.
The department has processed customs supervision procedures for 8,233 vehicles, 161,405 crew members entering and exiting across Hai Phong port and 749 aircrafts with 124,475 passengers entering and exiting across Cat Bi International Airport.
The department has processed procedures for 4.79 million TEUs of goods exported and imported across the area (including 2.32 million TEUs of imported goods and 2.47 million TEUs of exported goods), rising 16.54% over the same period in 2023 and 8.17 million tons of bulk and liquid goods (including 7.15 million tons of imported goods and 1.02 million tons of exported goods), up 17.06%...
Strictly supervising warehouses, yards and ports
As of December 15, Hai Phong Customs Department has performed customs supervision for 168 warehouses, yards, ports and 1 international airport (Cat Bi airport) in the area.
The department has inspected and reported to the General Department of Vietnam Customs for consideration of recognition, narrowing, expanding, moving, changing the owner's name, suspending, notifying the resumption of operations, and terminating centralized inspection sites, CFS warehouses, bonded warehouses, specialized gas ports, and seaports for 25 cases.
128 cases were inspected and decisions were made to recognize cargo inspection locations at construction sites or production facilities and factories, and 191 cases were extended.
In 2024, the Department researched and reported to the General Department of Vietnam Customs on the exploitation of 4 temporary cargo transshipment anchor points in the southern area of Cat Ba Island in Hai Phong port, contributing to facilitating import and export activities, increasing import and export output, and increasing the revenue.
Hai Phong Customs Department said that in 2024, customs supervision and management will be implemented at all stages, ensuring compliance with the operating mechanism and procedures under regulations and guiding documents of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, contributing to improving the capacity of state management of customs while facilitating trade for import-export and investment activities of enterprises.
