Throughout 2024, the Cao Bang Customs Department focused on implementing key tasks as directed by the Government, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Finance, the General Department of Customs, and the People's Committee of Cao Bang Province.
The department prioritized administrative reform, modernization of customs operations, and facilitating business activities. It also implemented synchronized and decisive measures to increase revenue collection, combat smuggling, and prevent illegal cross-border transportation of goods, while reinforcing discipline and regulatory compliance.
Over the year, 320 enterprises engaged in customs procedures, marking an increase of 20 businesses compared to 2023.
The total import-export turnover, including supervised goods, reached US$ 952.18 million, reflecting a 30% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Key import-export commodities included seafood, fruits, cashew nuts, cassava and cassava-based products, wood and wooden products, lead ingots, ores, other minerals, various types of coal, machinery, equipment, tools, spare parts, textiles, and automobiles.
Additionally, the department facilitated customs procedures for over 750,000 passengers, cross-border residents, and transportation vehicles, enabling smooth cargo delivery.
Among these, 7,382 passengers exited, and 30,342 passengers entered via the Ban Gioc Waterfall (Vietnam) - Detian (China) Scenic Area.
By the end of December 2024, the department had collected over VND 940 billion, achieving 157% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance and recording a 22% year-on-year increase compared to 2023.
In combating smuggling and customs violations, the Cao Bang Customs Department collaborated with relevant authorities to detect and address 170 cases of violations. These included 134 cases related to customs control and 36 cases involving customs procedure violations, resulting in administrative fines totaling over VND 360 million.
