Based on the successful results of the 9th "Two-Countries, Four-Parties" Conference between Customs Departments: Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang (Vietnam) and Nanning Customs (China), to increase friendship, promote information exchange between Customs on both sides of Mong Cai (Vietnam) - Dongxing(China) border gate, accepting the invitation of Dongxing Customs and receiving the approval of the General Department of Customs, the working group of Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch led by Mr. Pham Quoc Hung, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Customs Department, had a working session and exchanged experiences with Dongxing Customs at Lien Kiem Court, Dongxing border gate, Dongxing City, Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guangxi, China.

At the session, the two sides noted some new points about reform and modernization, the situation of import and export activities; the performance in the first 10 months of 2023; and experiences in capacity building, management efficiency and trade facilitation.

Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch made some recommendations to Dongxing Customs.

The two sides continue to work closely, establish a period exchange mechanism and maintain solutions to accelerate two-way trade turnover, report to the competent authority to maintain the opening time at the border crossing at Km 3+4 pontoon bridge following the agreement; enhance information exchange (on management policy mechanisms, warning information, information on the implementation of digital border gates, smart Customs model); strengthen coordination in the management and control of luggage of incoming and outgoing passengers and goods exchange of border residents.

Dongxing Customs also appreciated the coordination of Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch; acknowledged the recommendations of the Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch and will promptly resolve the contents within its authority and report to the competent authorities on contents beyond its authority.

At the end of the meeting, both sides appreciated the discussed contents and expressed expectations for better implementation of cooperation and coordination activities in the future.
