In the first nine months of 2024, the operations of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) enterprises within the jurisdiction of Mong Cai Customs have been stable.
Many FDI enterprises have expanded their import-export activities, venturing into areas such as export production, import-export trading, machinery manufacturing, export products, and supporting industries. Concurrently, the demand for imported machinery, equipment, and raw materials for production has increased significantly, contributing substantially to the state revenue of Mong Cai Customs.
In the first nine months of 2024, Mong Cai Customs collected VND1,805.05 billion, representing a 51% increase compared to the same period in 2023 and reaching 112.8% of the target set by Quang Ninh Customs for 2024 (VND1,600 billion).
Of this total, revenue from FDI enterprises amounted to VND535.7 billion, a 67% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Revenue from the import of raw materials and production supplies by FDI enterprises reached VND380.1 billion, a 43% increase, while revenue from machinery and equipment imported by FDI enterprises reached VND155.6 billion, a 162% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
To achieve these results, from the beginning of 2024, Mong Cai Customs has issued plans on solutions to increase state revenue, support, and attract enterprises.
The Branch has always supported and accompanied FDI enterprises in their import-export activities, such as disseminating new legal documents in the field of taxation and customs, as well as mechanisms and policies related to commodity policies, state inspections, and specialized inspections.
Moreover, the Branch has organized consultative meetings with enterprises engaged in processing, export production, and export processing, as well as FDI enterprises involved in import-export activities in the area; and a customs-business consultative meeting on customs procedures for various types of import-export goods, processing, manufacturing for export, and transit.
The leaders of the Customs branch and the leaders of the working teams have regularly met and exchanged with representatives of enterprises to grasp the production and business situation, as well as ongoing and upcoming projects, in order to plan and devise support measures to facilitate the maximum amount of imports and exports through the area.
