Turnover increased by 512%

On December 9, 2023, the Mong Cai International Border Gate Management Board issued notice No. 365/QB-QLCK informing that the General Department of Customs of China allowed 3 designated management and supervision yards at the Dong Hung land border gate (Bac Luan II area, Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh) carries out procedures for imported iced seafood, aquatic animals used as imported food, and imported plant varieties.

According to the Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch, up to now, in addition to traditional goods, there are a total of 6 items including: fruits, food, frozen seafood, aquatic animals used as food, plant seeds and herbs are allowed to carry out import procedures into China through Dong Hung border gate, Bac Luan II bridge area.

Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch has proactively propagated to the business community, exchanged information, and promptly handled problems in implementing customs procedures for businesses.

At the same time, the Branch arranges officers and civil servants to handle procedures outside of office hours, days off, and holidays, ensuring the quickest and most convenient customs clearance for businesses.

On the other hand, proactively coordinate with warehouse and yard businesses and related forces in the border gate area to arrange locations and create conditions for preserving and classifying the quality of goods of businesses during the export waiting time; Regulating traffic so that vehicles entering and exiting are not congested, ensuring security and order, and not allowing instability to occur that affects the export activities of enterprises.

After 3 months of implementation, there were 44 enterprises importing and exporting agricultural and seafood products through Bac Luan Bridge II Customs Clearance, with 422 declarations, turnover reaching 34.3 million USD, total weight of 4,656 tons, an increase 293% in number of declarations, 387% increase in turnover and 230% increase in weight compared to the same period in 2022.

It is worth mentioning that exported agricultural, aquatic and marine products increased sharply, with a total of 333 declarations, turnover reaching 31.7 million USD, total weight of 3,320 tons, an increase of 537% in the number of declarations, an increase of 512% in turnover and an increase of 372% in weight compared to the same period in 2023. Main import and export items include imported frozen fish, ornamental fish, fingerlings, etc and exported frozen fish, live lobsters, crabs live, snails, fresh fruits, dried fruits, pangasius fish bladder.

Removing difficulties for businesses

According to Deputy Director of Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Sub-department Nguyen Van Duong, with the spirit of asking and listening, the Branch has implemented many solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles of businesses and stand side by side with businesses to find bottlenecks and solutions.

The Branch also proactively dispatched working groups to directly visit businesses, especially potential businesses in Hai Phong, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, etc to exchange information, guide, and grasp the activities of businesses to record arising problems, suggestions and recommendations, thereby taking measures to overcome difficulties for businesses.

As recorded by the Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Sub-department, many businesses and traders completing procedures through Bac Luan Bridge II Customs Clearance highly appreciate the Customs agency's favorable solutions in promoting export of agricultural, aquatic and marine products in recent times.

As an enterprise exporting seafood through Bac Luan Bridge II Customs Clearance, Mr. Ngo Van Tung, representative of Bach Dang International Co., Ltd. shared: Regarding paperwork, problems with documents, Customs authorities have enthusiastically supported businesses to complete procedures as quickly as possible and created all conditions for the company to quickly clear goods, ensuring timely delivery with partners according to the signed contract.

With optimistic signs above expectations for 2024, trade activities through the area continue to prosper, especially exported Vietnamese agricultural and aquatic products.
