Mong Cai Customs supports agricultural, seafood and aquatic exporters

Trade in goods increases by 512%
On December 9, 2023, the Mong Cai International Border Gate Management Board issued notice No. 365/QB-QLCK notifying that the General Administration of Customs China (GACC) allowed three designated management and supervision yards at Dong Hung land border gate (Bac Luan II area, Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh) to process customs procedures for imported frozen seafood, aquatic animals used as food, and plant varieties.
According to Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch, six 6 items including: fruits, food, frozen seafood, aquatic animals used food, and plant varieties and herbs are allowed to be imported into China across Dong Hung Border Gate, Bac Luan II Bridge area.
Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch has proactively disseminated to the business community, exchanged information, and promptly handled problems in customs process for businesses.
The branch has arranged officers to process customs procedures outside working hours, or holidays to ensure quick and efficient customs clearance and facilitate businesses.
On the other hand, the branch has coordinated with warehouse and yard operators and relevant forces in the border gate area to arrange sites and facilitate the preservation and classification of goods quality during waiting for exports; regulated vehicles enterting and exiting the border gate, and prevented congestion, ensuring security and order for import and export activities.
After three months of implementation, 44 enterprises have imported and exported agricultural, aquatic and seafood products across Bac Luan Bridge II, with 422 declarations, weighting 4,656 tons, increasing by 293% in number of declarations and 387% in turnover and 230% in volume compared to the same period in 2022.
Notably, the export of agricultural, aquatic and seafood products surge, with total of 333 declarations, turnover of US$ 31.7 million, up 537% in the number of declarations, 512% in turnover and 372% in volume year-on-year.
Major import items include frozen fish, ornamental fish…, and major export products such as frozen fish, live lobsters, live crabs, spotted babylon snail, fresh fruits, dried fruits, and pangasius fish bladder.
Removing difficulties for enterprises
According to Deputy Manager of Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch Nguyen Van Duong, the branch has implemented solutions to remove obstacles and support enterprises .
The branch has arranged officers to work with enterprises, especially potential enterprises in Hai Phong, Ha Noi, HCM City to exchange information and understand status of businesses and recognize their difficulties, thereby removing obstacles for them.
According to the branch, many enterprises and traders carrying out procedures across Bac Luan II Bridge have highly appreciated solutions by the Customs in fostering the export of agricultural, seafood and aquatic products
Mr. Ngo Van Tung, representative of Bach Dang International Co., Ltd. said that the Customs has supported and facilitated the company in customs process in the fastest manner, ensuring timely delivery with partners under the signed contract.
With optimistic signs above expectations for 2024, trade activities across the area continue to prosper, especially Vietnamese agricultural, seafood and aquatic exports.
