Import and export turnover reaches about US$29 billion in the second half of January 2025

The figure decreased by 15.6% (equivalent to a decrease of US$5.33 billion) compared to the figure in the first half of January 2025.
The results achieved in the second period of January brought the total import-export turnover of the whole country in January 2025 to US$63.25 billion, down 3.3% (or US$2.16 billion) compared to the same period last year.
In the second half of January, the trade balance of had a surplus of US$4.83 billion. In January 2025, Vietnam had a trade surplus of US$3.13 billion.
Specifically, exports in the second period of January reached US$16.87 billion, up 3.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the second half of January 2025, exports of all kinds of phones and components increased to US$1.47 billion, up 87% compared to the same period of the previous year.
However, export turnover of some other key product groups dropped, such as: computers, electronic products and components down 17%; footwear of all kinds down 13%; cameras, camcorders and components down 29%...
In the whole month of January, Vietnam's total export turnover reached US$ 33.19 billion, down 4% compared to the same period last year.
Vietnam's imports in the second half of January reached US$12.03 billion, down 33.1% compared to the same period last year.
Imports in the second period of January 2025 decreased compared to the previous period, mainly in some product groups such as: computers, electronic products and components down 24.5%; machinery, equipment, tools and other spare parts down 36%; iron and steel of all kinds down 49.4%; plastic raw materials down 48.5%; fabrics of all kinds down 35.4%...
In January, the total import turnover of the whole country reached US$30.06 billion, down 2.6% compared to the same period last year.
