In the last 5 months of 2017: Customs must collect 24,870 billion VND per month

It is said that in 2017, the average revenues of the first 7 months of the year reached 23,664 billion VND, a decrease of 86 billion VND per month compared to the estimated (23,750 billion VND per month). In order to complete the target of State budget revenues in 2017 of 285,000 billion VND, in the last 5 months of 2017, Customs sector still has to collect 119.354 billion VND, equivalent to 23,870 billion VND per month, 206 billion VND higher than the average in the first 7 months of 2017.
Reportedly, the revenues of the Customs sector in July 2017 only reached 22,565 billion VND, 2,241 billion VND lower than those in June 2017. The State budget revenues in the first 7 months of the year reached 165,646 billion VND, equivalent to 58.1% of the estimate, an increase of 9.3% over the same period in 2016.
The cause which made revenues in July 2017 lower than those in June 2017 was mainly due to that export turnover with taxes in July 2017 decreased 8.07% compared to June 2017, a steady decrease in the main products: petroleum with a decrease of 206 billion VND, pharmaceuticals with a decrease of 102 billion VND, steel & metals with a decrease of 85 billion VND, and home appliances with a decrease of 260 billion VND, especially imported cars with a decrease of 745 billion VND, cars less than 9 seats with 2,537 units, a decrease of 703 units, equivalent to 602 billion VND, a decrease of 1,870 units compared to the first 6 months of the year and a decrease of 805 billion VND compared to the first 6 months of the year.

By 31st July 2017, there were 21 Customs Departments of provinces and cities with a revenue equivalent to or higher than the estimated rate of the Customs sector (58.1%), accounting for 36.9% of the total revenues of the Customs sector, including some large revenue units such as Hanoi, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Quang Ninh and Khanh Hoa. Some high-achieving units were Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa, and Ha Nam Ninh. However, some large revenue units such as Hai Phong reached only 53% of the estimate, Ho Chi Minh City reached 55% of the estimate, and these two units accounted for 56% of the total revenues of the Customs sector.
