HCM City Customs settle accrued tax liability from post clearance

In particular, post clearance audit customs branch is assigned to collect the largest amount of tax liability with nearly 96 billion VND. Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch is 82 billion VND; Saigon port area 3 Customs Branch is over 15 billion VND; Investment Customs Branch is over 11 billion VND,…; and the unit with the smallest amount of assigned target is Tan Thuan export processing zone Customs Branch with 200 million VND for each sub-units.

To achieve high results in accrued tax liability recovery, the HCM City Customs Department has instructed managers of each branch to develop a detailed and specific plan, direct the executive division to supervise the implementation in order to achieve two main objectives:

Firstly, strive not to generate bad debts in 2018 without an appropriate reason. When new tax arrears arise, the Branches must urgently coordinate and actively collect tax debts immediately and apply measures of stopping the procedures to request enterprises to pay tax.

Secondly, assigning the tax debt management division to re-organize tax debt file and report it to the General Department of Vietnam Customs in time. To take initiative in making dossiers of eligibility for tax debt relief.

In the first quarter of 2018, the HCM City Customs Department processed and recovered tax debts of 136.117 billion VND, achieved 37.2% of the assigned plan.
