FDI enterprises make great contribution to Mong Cai Customs revenue

FDI enterprises make great contribution to trade turnover and revenue

In 2020, FDI enterprises contributed import-export turnover of US$884 million and remitted VND307 billion to the state budget (accounting for 32% of turnover and 26% of revenue of the branch).

In the first six months of 2021, import and export turnover through Mong Cai border gate reached US$1.76 billion, up 16% year-on-year.

Mong Cai border gate Customs Branch said the total investment of FDI enterprises in Hai Yen and Hai Ha Industrial Parks is worth over US$1.8 billion, creating jobs for over 14,300 employees, with a monthly salary of about VND8 million per person.

Investment projects in Hai Yen and Hai Ha Industrial Parks mainly focus on the textile and garment industry chain and auxiliary industries.

Products of FDI enterprises have helped fill the shortage of raw materials and reduced dependence on imported raw materials of Vietnam's textile and garment industry.

They have provided high quality textile products for famous brands such as Uniqlo, VF, PPJ, Terget, Uchino, Givenchy, Tayohya, Lacoste, Decathlon, Goldlion, Muji, Play boy, Boss and Polo.

There are currently 11 FDI enterprises carrying out procedures at Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch.

In addition, the FDI sector has recognized the efforts of the Customs authorities in reforming administrative procedures, as well as notifying the business community.

During the customs process, Mong Cai Customs has promptly guided enterprises on legal documents related to import and export activities, especially differences from former regulations on import and export activities for businesses to easily research and implement.

The FDI sector not only receives the instructions to implement at their enterprise, but also widely notifies the business community in the area, to accompany Customs to implement dissemination of laws and improve legal compliance capacity to the business community.

Therefore, errors in the process of declaration and customs procedures of enterprises have reduced and the customs management of Mong Cai border gate Customs has improved.

Customs commits to accompany and support businesses

At the meeting with representatives of FDI enterprises to exchange, support and guide them on classification of goods and customs procedures organized by Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch (October 2), the representatives of Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch and FDI enterprises discussed some information and problems that businesses are interested in, such as the registration of the list of non-taxable goods for imported goods, customs procedures for on-spot import and export goods, anti-dumping tax policy for some yarn products.

Mong Cai border gate Customs Branch hope that FDI enterprises in the area will continue to give comments on legal policies of customs, as well as participate in assessing the impact of regulations related to production and business activities of enterprises and send questions and recommendations to Mong Cai customs branch in a timely fashion.

At the same time, reflecting the integrity in the performance of official duties by the Customs on troublesome, harassing and negative acts of Customs officers through assessing the satisfaction level of the people. and businesses with the service of Customs.
