On June 22, the Anti-Drug Enforcement Team under Dien Bien Customs Department detected a suspect driving a motorbike with license plate No.27B1-78619 and showing suspected signs of illegal transportation of drugs at Phi Nhu Commune, Dien Bien Dong district, Dien Bien province.

The team requested to inspect the suspect Lau A Di, 36, residing in Xa Dung Commune, Dien Bien District, Dien Bien province.

The forces detected 78 packages with white powder in a sack on the motorbike.

Lau A Di said 78 packages were heroin and he was transporting them for consumption.

The team made a report and seized the infringing goods.

Currently, the case is under investigation by authorities.

Earlier, on June 4, the Anti-Drug Enforcement Team coordinated with the Police to patrol at Co Noi commune, Mai Son District, Son La province, and detected some suspects with signs related to drug crime.

The working team seized 10 plastic bags, of those two pink bags and eight blue bags containing pink tablets with symbol WY on each tablet.

These suspects admitted that 10 plastic bags were synthetic drugs with a total number of 2,000 tablets.

In the first half of 2021, the Anti-Drug Enforcement Team has collaborated with other authorities to arrest 16 suspects in 10 cases for smuggling and illegal transportation of drugs.

The authorities seized 5,240,720 grams of heroin, 68,421 synthetic drug tablets; 1,000 grams of methamphetamine; 11 mobile phones; eight motorcycles; a knife; and VND2.4 million in cash.
