The working group identified that the couple was Lau Van Sau (born in 1999) and Dong Thi Thuy (born in 1984), residing at Bao Lam district, Cao Bang province.

Conducting an inspection, the working group seized 32 bricks of heroin and other related evidence.

Therefore, only nearly a week, Dien Bien Customs worked with other forces in Dien Bien and Son La provinces to tackle three illicit transportation cases involving drugs.

Earlier on July 26, at ChiengBom commune, Thuan Chau district, Son La province, the working group including the Drug Enforcement Team, PC04 Division, PA0 under Son La province and Thuan Chau district’s Public Security discovered one man suspected of illicit transportation of drug substances.

The man declared that he was called Giang Tong Chu, born in 1965 (residing at Chua Ta village, Tia Dinh commune, Dien Bien Dong district, Dien Bien province) and delivered two rectangular cubes wrapped with nilon.

Chu confessed the two above rectangular cubes were heroin.

On July 27, on the National Road 44Km 70 in Na Khuyet village, Cha Cang commune, Nam Po district, Dien Bien province, the Drug Enforcement Team worked with PC04 Division under Dien Bien Public Security, Nam Po district’s Public Security and Cha Cang commune’s Public Security to arrest Hang A Nan, born in 1988 (residing at Pa Tan village, Nam Bo district) carrying 12 bricks of brown plastic with pungent odor, suspected of being opium (about 6kg).
