APEC Summit Week 2017 is the most important event in the series of events of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2017 held in Vietnam.

Director of Da Nang international airport Customs branch, Nguyen Duy Nhat said that the preparation of the customs force is ready, ensuring Customs officers 24/24 at the Customs inspection and supervision areas at Da Nang International Airport Terminal to receive and handle Customs procedures promptly, respectfully and ensure the safety for arriving and leaving delegations.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Nhat, Da Nang airport has nearly 80 exit and entry flights with more than 12,000 passengers per day. It was expected that number of flights and passengers in the APEC week would highly increase.

Over the past time, the branch has enhanced the training on Customs operation, reception operation, communication and scanning skill, skill on preventing and handling the situation, communication skill in English, South Korean language and Chinese language. Da Nang Customs Department has also moved, transferred and supplemented civil servants who were qualified and well-trained to meet operational activities to serve APEC. Regarding equipment system, now, the international terminal T2 and VIP terminal has met the customs operation such as baggage scanning system, camera system, suspect detection system; personnel non-X-ray screening system to detect banned goods; radioactive detection system and IT system., etc. In addition, the branch has installed instruction boards to classify exit and entry passengers, the instruction boards to classify entrances for APEC delegations and attendees. "The branch has developed a detailed plan for inspection, supervision, and coordination with related units at Da Nang International Airport to ensure security and safety during the APEC Summit Week. Specifically, the branch has developed and deployed the plan to classify the Green / Red channel for flights in order to facilitate and shorten the Customs clearance time for exit and entry passengers” - said by Mr. Nhat.

In addition, the Customs force also regularly cooperates with the management agencies in the area such as border police, airport authority of the central region, airport security force., etc to deploy plans to receive and handle the procedures quickly, conveniently and ensure the security and solutions to respond possible problems.
