Customs sector continues to implement pandemic prevention and ensure customs management
The General Department of Vietnam Customs requested customs units at all levels operating professional activities in high-risk provinces and cities to perform their assigned tasks and apply measures to prevent the pandemic as directed by the Prime Minister, local authorities and ministries and sectors in that province or city.
Chiefs of customs units at all levels where customs units operate in areas of two high-risk groups should direct and manage task performance and prevent the pandemic to ensure it is appropriate with each locality.
The General Department of Vietnam Customs requested its units to perform pandemic prevention as well as maintain customs clearance of import-export goods, transit goods, means of transport on exit, entry and transit; luggage of people on their exit and entry; anti-smuggling and investigation, online surveillance; maintain operation of the IT system to meet requirements of customs operations, ensure the IT system operates smoothly 24/7; ensure security, safety and smoothly operate the national database system on import and export goods. It is necessary to implement measures to facilitate import-export activities but still ensure requirements for prevention and control of the pandemic.

The General Department of Vietnam Customs requested units continue following the instructions of leaders at all levels in Covid-19 prevention and customs management. Heads of units would be responsible if customs officials and employees were infected due to not strictly complying with regulations on pandemic prevention in the workplace.
Continuing to strictly implement guidance documents of the Government Office, the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Vietnam Customs on the implementation of pandemic prevention, customs management, trade facilitation, anti-smuggling and commercial fraud during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Strictly implement Article 8, Law on Cyber Security, especially paying attention to strictly abiding by regulations on posting information on social networking sites.
The General Department Vietnam Customs also requests customs units at all levels operating in high-risk areas (Group 1) to strictly and fully implement Directive 16/CT-TTg April 22 or April 30 depending on the pandemic in each area.
For customs units operating in the risk area (group 2), they should strictly implement measures in accordance with Directive 16/CT-TTg from 16/4 to 22/4 and it would be adjusted on 22/4 depending on the pandemic’s developments.
For units operating in low-risk areas (group 3), they should implement the task of customs management, comply with instructions of the Prime Minister and local authorities, focusing on strengthening the application of IT in professional activities so customs officials can work directly at the maximum level, assigning officials to work directly at the appropriate headquarters and ensuring effective task performance.
