Binh Dinh Customs: revenue collection increases sharply

Implementing many solutions to support businesses, and attract import and export goods, the state revenue of Binh Dinh Customs in the first months of 2024 achieved high results.

According to Binh Dinh Customs Department, in 2024, the unit is assigned a state budget revenue target of VND 487 billion (revenues in Binh Dinh province is VND 429 billion and Phu Yen province is VND58 billion).

Right from the beginning of 2024, Binh Dinh Customs Department has drastically implemented the task of revenue collection

Besides effectively implementing solutions following Directive No. 371/CT-TCHQ dated January 24, 2024 of the General Department of Vietnam Customs on the synchronous and drastic implementation of solutions to facilitate trade and improve efficiency, state management, preventing revenue loss in implementing revenue collection task in 2024, the Department issued Decision No. 554/QD-HQBD dated December 28, 2023 on assigning revenue estimates and targets from exported and imported goods in 2024 for two customs branches.

At the same time, concretize implementation solutions by issuing Plan No. 194/KH-HQBD dated February 5, 2024 on the synchronous and drastic implementation of solutions to facilitate trade and improve efficiency of state management, preventing revenue loss in implementing the revenue collection in 2024.

From the beginning of 2024 to April 15, 2024, Binh Dinh Customs Department has completed customs procedures for over 19,000 customs declarations, an increase of 42.2% over the same period in 2023; completed procedures for 369 ships entering, exiting, transiting - transshipment ports, an increase of 30.9%; the volume of import and export goods reached 2.35 million tons/m3, a growth of 75.4%; import-export turnover reached US$854.32 million, an increase of 15% over the same period in 2023.

As of April 15, 2024, the revenue collection of Binh Dinh Customs Department was VND258.5 billion, reaching 53.1% of the current appropriation, an increase of 173.3% over the same period in 2023. In particular, Binh Dinh province collected VND 232,328 billion, reaching 54.2% of the target, an increase of 200.2%; Phu Yen province VND26,202 billion, reaching 45.2% of current appropriation, an increase of 52.3% over the same period in 2023.

According to Director of Binh Dinh Customs Department Le Van Nhuan, besides facilitating commercial activities of businesses, Binh Dinh Customs Department also focuses on preventing smuggling, trade fraud, and revenue loss.

Accordingly, the unit continues to maintain a coordinated relationship with competent forces in the area, such as Police, Border Guard, Coast Guard... and anti-smuggling force (General Department of Vietnam Customs) to exchange, collect, and process relevant information on the prevention and combat of smuggling, trade fraud, and illegal transportation of goods and drugs across borders;

Collect information on the local situation, and strengthen periodic and irregular maritime patrols in key directions, from information sources. Through collecting information, understanding the local situation and implementing professional measures, identifying key and high-risk items to have effective management measures to avoid revenue loss.

Also according to Director Le Van Nhuan, to continue reforming procedures and facilitating businesses, Binh Dinh Customs Department focuses on effectively implementing the Plan for implementing key reform, development and modernization activities in 2024 of Binh Dinh Customs Department; strengthen patrol, control, grasp the situation, proactively patrol, control, verify, grasp the situation, provide necessary information to support the clearance process for import and export goods, means of transport for entry and exit; focusing on collecting and processing customs information to ensure supporting and operation of the risk management system...
