According to HCMC Customs Department, through checking goods of woven fabric and non-woven fabric imported by Minh Đức Ltd (Long An) at the Customs Sub Branch of the ports of Saigon area 1 from 2014 to 15th September 2015, the unit has collected over 8 billion VND in taxes. Also, that enterprise declared imported goods with a tax rate of 0% so through inspection, Customs has adjusted the import tax to 12%.
Similarly, from 15-9-2015 until now, the Customs Sub Branch of the ports of Saigon area 1- HCMC Customs Department issued tax assessment decisions for Minh Duc Ltd Long An, with a total amount of tax arrears of 9.5 billion VND.
Despite Customs declarations identifying import tariff classification and tax arrears, HCMC Customs Department directed the units that there was a case of insufficient basis for determining the exact number, consequently they performed sampling analysis based classification in order to implement remedial measures.
Currently, HCMC Customs Department has developed plans to implement post-clearance audit for 5 enterprises that imported fabrics similar to the above case with mis-stated sign code and tax rate when import procedures. The expected tax collection will be over 10 billion VND.
