CMC company makes presentation on IT solutions to leaders of General Department of Vietnam Customs

Participating in the meeting were members of the Steering Committee on hiring IT services; Deployment Group on hiring IT services, Advisory Group assists the Steering Committee on hiring IT services, 10 key local customs departments (online meeting); and representatives from Department of Financial Informatics and Statistics; Department of Planning and Finance (Ministry of Finance).

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the leader of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, Deputy Director General Mai Xuan Thanh emphasised that implementing Decision 97/QD-BTC of the Ministry of Finance dated January 26, 2021 on approving the policy on "hiring information technology services to implement Digital Customs", the General Department of Vietnam Customs has publicly posted information on hiring IT services.

To date, a number of informatics companies have expressed interest and registered to work with the General Department of Vietnam Customs to present IT solutions. Based on the agreement with the information technology companies, on March 10, CMC Technology and Solution Corporation is the first unit working with the General Department of Vietnam Customs on this issue.

Deputy Director General Mai Xuan Thanh proposed representatives of units of the General Department of Vietnam Customs and key customs units focus on researching, analysing and evaluating strengths and weaknesses in solutions that were presented by CMC Technology and Solutions Corporation, as well as be presented by businesses in the near future. At the same time, from the practice of the management, requirements of professional problems would be given for information technology companies to offer appropriate IT solutions.

According to the Customs Information Technology and Statistics Department, after the General Department of Vietnam Customs published the announcement of the policy of hiring IT services, on March 8, there were six informatics companies interested in posting and registred to make presentation, including: Corporation technology and solution CMC; FPT Information System Company Limited; Global Information Affiliate Corporation (GTEL); Industry-Telecommunication Corporation (Viettel); SAP Vietnam Company; and ETC Technology System Joint Stock Company.

From March 10 to 17, 6 IT companies will come to the General Department of Vietnam Customs to present their IT solutions.

"Besides six informatics companies as mentioned above, any company interested can contact the General Department of Customs to arrange the time for pitching on the solution," a representative of Customs IT and Statistics Department said.
