According to Bac Ninh Customs Department, the unit collects over VND1,000 billion per month on average. Some items that make a great contribution to the unit’s budget include imported computers, electronic products and components, phones of all kinds and imported components, common metals and products.

The unit collected VND1,054.8 billion and VND1,009.7 billion in May and June respectively.

In June alone, trade turnover reached US$14 billion, of which exports recorded US$7.8 billion, up 7%, and imports US$6.2 billion, down 4% compared to May 2022. Taxable turnover reached US$373.5 million, of which exports reached US$5.9 million and imports US$367.6 million.

According to the analysis, the budget revenue through the areas managed by Bac Ninh Customs Department rose significantly. The increase in budget revenue was due to the growth in production, business and import-export activities of some large enterprises in the province.

Typically, the VAT amount paid by Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen Co., Ltd (Ho Chi Minh City Branch) in the first half of 2022 rose by about VND400 billion year-on-year. Followed by Vietnam Thai Nguyen Electronics Co., Ltd and a number of companies in the field of electronic components with paid VAT amount increasing by over VND300 billion year-on-year.

To achieve the above results, the leader of Bac Ninh Customs Department has requested units to urgently implement Directive 439/CT-TCHQ dated February 11, 2022 of the General Director of the General Department of Customs. The Customs Department has developed solutions to strive to complete the task of budget collection, as well as strengthen the fight against revenue loss in 2022.

Director of Bac Ninh Customs Department Tran Duc Hung said that in administrative reform and trade facilitation work, the unit has followed Directive 11/CT - TTg of the Prime Minister on urgent tasks and solutions to remove difficulties for production and business and ensure social security to cope with the Covid-19 pandemic; create convenience for the business community while ensuring strict supervision and management in accordance with regulations.

Moreover, the unit has strengthened to review and understand revenues, proposed and implemented solutions to increase revenue and combat loss of budget revenue. The unit has also actively inspected and accurately classified tax arrears at the unit to completely handle tax debts; reviewed and checked names, codes, and tax rates to identify and handle violations.

“Based on the existing resources, Bac Ninh Customs has arranged cadres and civil servants to appropriate job positions in accordance with their professional capacity to improve efficiency. In particular, the unit has reviewed tax exemption, reduction and refund and handled officers who have committed wrongdoings," said Mr. Tran Duc Hung.

For the rest of the year, to strive to complete the state budget task assigned by the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Customs, Bac Ninh Customs Department will actively assess and analyze the budget revenues at the branches to give appropriate tasks.

Furthermore, the unit will review and analyze data of enterprises in Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Thai Nguyen that have import activities from China through Huu Nghi border gate (Lang Son) and Mong Cai border gate (Quang Ninh) to build a coordination mechanism with Lang Son and Quang Ninh Customs Departments to facilitate the operation of enterprises.

In addition, Bac Ninh Customs will research and develop regulations on coordination with the Management Board of Industrial Parks in Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Thai Nguyen provinces to exchange information for management and promote the role of the Customs in supporting and creating a favorable management environment for enterprises.
