Agree to release shipment of 3 million Covid-19 Ag rapid test kits
On July 31, the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) received a letter from the Ministry of Health on receiving 3 million Covid-19 Ag rapid test kits from Capital Investment and Trade Tourism Joint Stock Company and proposing to exempt import tax and VAT for the shipment, facilitating to implement quick clearance for the Ministry of Health to receive the shipment.
Regarding import tax and VAT exemption, the GDVC requested the company to add specific information relating to goods descriptions, signatures, codes and types of goods of Covid-19 Ag rapid test kits.

In the near future, to serve the urgent needs of Covid-19 infection prevention and control, GDVC agreed to allow the company to release the shipment.
Thu Do Investment and Trade Tourism Joint Stock Company will not have to fulfill its import tax or VAT obligations for the shipment if the company has a written commitment on fulfilling tax obligations.
The GDVC assigned the Hanoi Customs Department and the HCM City Customs Department (where the company plans to carry out import procedures for the shipment) to carry out procedures for releasing the shipment to promptly deliver it to the Ministry of Health.
Faced with the complex situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in HCM City and southern provinces, there is a dire need for medical equipment including Covid-19 rapid test kit, so Thu Do Investment and Trade Tourism Joint Stock Company sponsoring 3 million kits of Covid-19 Ad rapid test is a humanitarian, necessary and urgent activity for the community.
