Watch out for Customs News imposters selling documents of Covid-19 prevention
A case of imposture of Customs News was detected |
According to the readers, this impostor claimed to be Dung with cellphone number xxx4937118. He pretended to be an employee of Customs News to sell documents of the World Customs Organisation about Covid-19 prevention. The price of this document was VND 400,000/set and would be delivered to buyers via post. However, when a reporter of Customs News called this person via the above phone number, he did not answer.
Dao Hong Le, Head of Advertisement and Distribution Division – Customs News asserted thatCustoms News did not publish any documents relating to the above content. If Customs News published any such publications, the unit would contact organisations and individuals via official documents with clear and specific information.
Customs News asserted there was no employee named Dung working in Customs News. Dung proclaiming himself as an employee of Customs New to sell documents was an imposition.
Therefore, when receiving unofficial communications (no official document or letter of introduction) on behalf of officials, reporters and employees of Customs News, it was suggested the unit should contact Customs News directly for verification and to avoid cheating.
