Van Don Customs prepares for resumption of flights

On April 6, Van Don International Airport welcomed flight VN99 from the US to Vietnam carrying 132 passengers. |
According to Cam Pha Seaport Customs Branch, Vietnam officially lifted restrictions on regular international flights and reopened from February 15. However, due to the request of the aviation authorities of other countries and territories and the market demand, the international commercial flights to Van Don International Airport have not been resumed. Only some charter flights carrying investors and businessmen to Vietnam to seek investment opportunities have been operated.
To ensure Customs control at Van Don International Airport in association with pandemic prevention and control in the new normal state, the working group of Van Don Airport Customs has focused on collecting and analyzing information related to risk areas, passengers on entry and exit, flights; and coordinated competent agencies to provide appropriate solutions for each flight to prevent, and handle violations.
The team has also improved the efficiency of dissemination and instruction for organizations and individuals to comply with the law.
The local customs team has strengthened the performance of customs control measures and information collection to take effective customs supervision and control measures.
In addition, the local Customs team has regularly coordinated and exchanged information with competent agencies and units under the local customs department on goods smuggling and transportation by air.
It has effectively executed the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Cam Pha Seaport Customs Branch and Van Don International Airport in implementing processes, procedures, management and supervision for passengers, baggage, vehicles and goods on entry and exit.
In addition, the team has strengthened political and ideological education for officers to overcome difficulties; improved qualifications for officers.
From January 1 to April 30, 2022, Van Don Airport Customs processed procedures for 10 flights on entry and 2,134 passengers and 3,137 pieces of luggage. The flights are mainly from Japan, Germany and France. |
