After a long time suspending import and export activities, especially for seafood products across the Coc Nam - Lung Nghiu border gates due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, on May 26, the Center for goods supervision at Lung Nghiu was approved by Guangxi Pingxiang Commerce Department, China to monitor imported seafood products.
The Chinese side said that this is an activity to better attract the import of seafood products from Lung Nghiu Border Gate, and promote income growth and prosperous development of border residents of the two sides. Therefore, the Bang Tuong side has requested the agencies, departments and forces of Lang Son province to coordinate and facilitate the customs clearance for seafood products across this pair of border gates.
Accordingly, 5 tons of freshwater catfish products of business household Hoang Thi Hang, address in Ban Moi village, Hoang Dong commune, Lang Son city, were cleared by Coc Nam Customs to export to China across Coc Nam Border Gate.
Mr. Tran Van Hung, Manager of Coc Nam Customs Branch (Lang Son Customs Department) said that currently China has strict requirements on conditions for traceability of aquatic and seafood products. Therefore, Coc Nam Customs Branch recommended that exporters must be issued Certificate of origin (C/O) before exporting the products to the Chinese market.
Manager Tran Van Hung said that these products are one of major products exported across Coc Nam Border Gate. Before August 2021, the average volume of fishery products exported across this border gate reached 20 tons/day. However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, from August 2021 to before July 5, 2023, the products have not been cleared across Coc Nam-Lung Nghiu. Therefore, it is hoped that the products will be regularly cleared across Coc Nam Border Gate after nearly three years were suspended customs clearance.
