Customs actively facilitates customs clearance
According to Chi Ma Border Gate Customs Branch, in order to effectively information supervision, the branch has regularly and actively gathered information from Chinese authorities on import-export policies to notify enterprises importing and exporting goods across the area.
Items that are mainly imported and exported across Chi Ma Border Gate, include consumer goods, electronic components, CO2 gas, machinery, plywood, some types of agricultural seeds, etc.
A representative of Chi Ma Border Gate Customs Branch said that the branch has proactively arranged and assigned officers to quickly process procedures, prevent backlog of goods, ensuring smooth customs clearance.
As of October 15, Chi Ma Border Gate Customs Branch has processed over 10,000 declarations with a total turnover of over $303 million; of which import turnover reached over $246 million.
Chi Ma Customs Branch has proactively disseminated new Customs policies and laws to the business community; promptly answered and resolved difficulties and problems.
The branch has focused on customs valuation, good classification and post clearance audit, thereby promptly detecting and preventing frauds causing revenue loss. Currently, the branch has collected VND570 billion in taxes, reaching 88% of the target.
One of the effective solutions to improve the customs clearance capacity, Chi Ma Customs Branch has promoted the IT application, digital transformation and customs modernization.
The branch has deployed solutions and administrative reforms in processing customs procedures for imports and exports, exit and entry means of transport and passengers across the area, which has brought positive effects to customs work and trade facilitation.
Notably, the branch has supported enterprises in customs process 24/7, aiming to quickly clear goods and reduce arising costs, the representative said.
Ensuring security at the border gate
To ensure security in the border area and border gate, Chi Ma Border Guard Station has proactively developed plans when the volume of import and export vehicles tends to increase.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Binh, Head of Chi Ma Border Guard Station, said that the volume of vehicles transporting import and export goods and passengers entering and exiting the country across the border gate tends to go up. In order to effectively control the area, the branch has arranged sufficient forces and means to perform tasks during peak times.
At the same time, the branch has coordinated with customs forces to control cargo transshipment sites and yards where have vehicles transporting imported and exported cargo to promptly detect and handle violations.
Additionally, the Station has directed teams, groups, and border control stations at Chi Ma border gate to deploy plans to combat smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and illegal transportation of goods; and developed effective plans to prevent violations.
Notably, the station has proactively coordinated with forces at the border gate to control 24/24 at key locations to promptly inspect, detect, arrest, and handle violations.
From May 2024 to present, the unit has detected and seized over 3 tons of chicken feet and over 6 tons of pig feet of unknown origin.
In addition, to effectively combat smuggling, the unit also coordinates with local government and local police to regularly disseminate border residents not to support criminals, as well as actively denounce crimes, contributing to ensuring security, social order and safety in border areas...
