Thanh Hoa Customs attracts and supports enterprises in the customs process across Nghi Son Port

VCN – Thanh Hoa Customs Department has coordinated with local agencies to attract enterprises in the customs process based on existing advantages, and policies to boost the economic development of import and export activities in the area, especially sea transportation.

In the master plan on the development of Vietnam's seaport system in the period of 2021-2030, vision to 2050, of the Prime Minister, Nghi Son port is a grade I port and planned to become a special port.

Exceeding revenue target soon

As of September, Thanh Hoa Customs Department collected VND14,823.6 billion, reaching 165% compared with the same period 2021, meeting 134.8% of the target set by the Ministry of Finance, and123.5% target set by the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

The revenue from crude oil was VND12,253 billion, accounting for 82.9% of the total revenue of the department.

In the first nine months of the year, the department processed procedures for about 1,300 dossiers, reaching 100%; 2,290 procedures via Online Customs Public Service System; cleared 85,000 customs e-declaration, reaching 106.8% compared with a year ago.

Total import-export turnover increased 44% year-on-year to US$10.9 billion.

To attract shipping lines, logistics operators and enterprises transporting goods, and create a breakthrough in import and export activities across Nghi Son port system, recently, the People's Council of Thanh Hoa province has issued Resolution 248/2022/HDND on policies to support international and domestic means of transport, and support enterprises transporting goods by container through Nghi Son port.

According to Director of Nghi Son Port Customs Branch Le Hong Phong, Resolution 37/2021/QH15 dated November 13, 2021 piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Thanh Hoa province and Decree Decision 248/NQ-HDND dated July 13, 2022 of the People's Council of Thanh Hoa province has provided important support policies for businesses.

Accordingly, increasing the support level for international sea transport across Nghi Son port to VND500 million/trip (an increase of VND300 million/trip compared to the support policy of Resolution 166/2022/HDND).

Supporting domestic means of transport carrying goods by container VND300 million/trip. Enterprises transporting goods by container through Nghi Son Port are also supported with VND2 million/20-foot container and VND3 million/40-foot container when opening declarations at Thanh Hoa Customs; supporting VND700,000/container 20 feet and VND1 million/container 40 feet when businesses do not open declarations at Thanh Hoa Customs.

Thanh Hoa expects to continue to attract domestic and international shipping lines to invest and create more jobs for employees, increase revenue and promote the potential and strengths of Nghi Son.

In order to implement solutions to support and attract businesses when carrying out import-export procedures at Thanh Hoa Customs, Director of Thanh Hoa Customs Department Le Xuan Hue said with the policy of openness, companionship, building and removing difficulties, and support businesses in customs procedures, the local Customs Department is committed to continuing to create favorable conditions in customs process and promote export production activities in the province with the active cooperation of the business community.

With the aim of promoting the efficiency of preferential and specific policies, the Customs Department actively coordinated with local agencies to work with local businesses and other enterprises to give priority in the customs process for the import and export of goods across Nghi Son port. Thereby, strengthening the dissemination of policies of the Party, Government and Thanh Hoa province to attract logistics investors, shipping lines and enterprises.

In addition, the port operators speed up the investment progress in the construction of transport infrastructure, port area, machinery and equipment to meet the needs of shipping lines and customers; reduce the cost of service charges; ensure the conditions of infrastructure, equipment, warehousing, services to best serve the import of passenger cars of less than 16 seats.

Strengthen supervision of cargo loading and unloading, towage services at ports, land transport activities, control domestic freight rates, ensure stability, fair competition, avoid price pressure, causing stagnation and concern for importers and exporters.
