Enterprises focus on Tet care for employees

Spending tens of billions of VND to take care of Tet

In the last days of the year, the Tet atmosphere is spreading strongly in many businesses, when companies take care of Tet for employees with meaningful bonuses and Tet gifts. Saigon Food Joint Stock Company (Saigon Food), with a total bonus and Tet care of up to VND 32 billion, has given more than 2,000 of its employees a warm Tet.

Ms. Tran Kieu Oanh, Human Resources Director of Saigon Food, said that this year's business indicators have improved with export sales increasing by 17%, exceeding the profit plan and a stable workforce, helping the company's Board of Directors decide to give a 13th month salary bonus to all employees, with an average bonus of VND eleven million for production workers. In general, this year's bonus is 10% higher than last year.

In addition, the company also gives performance and seniority bonuses, with the highest bonus up to VND 8.5 million. Activities to take care of Tet such as organizing buses to take workers back to their hometowns, giving Tet gifts, and organizing year-end parties have made the spring atmosphere more bustling. The company also spent nearly VND 100 million to give lucky money to workers returning to work on the first day after Tet.

Similarly, TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company, with about 36,000 workers, has organized a series of activities to take care of Tet. The company's union has successfully negotiated the Lunar New Year bonus for At Ty 2025, and at the same time presented nearly 36,000 Tet gifts to workers. In addition, the company also supported bus tickets for workers to return to their hometowns, organized cultural activities to celebrate Spring and Tet, and gave gifts to workers in difficult circumstances. These programs not only bring joy but also show deep gratitude for the contributions of workers throughout the past year.

Triple Vietnam Garment Company Limited has a plan to take care of its employees by giving them a seniority bonus of an average of VND eight million/person, and the highest bonus is up to VND20 million. Mr. Nguyen Dac Thoi, Chairman of the Trade Union of Triple Vietnam Garment Company Limited, said that in addition to the salary and bonus regime, the company also organizes many entertainment and cultural activities, and lucky draws with valuable gifts such as motorbikes, televisions, and phones, creating a joyful atmosphere, full of the flavor of Tet for all workers.

Tet bonuses flourish

Recorded in some southern localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Long An, the Tet bonus situation this year is more positive than previous years. In particular, there have been businesses with high Tet bonuses of up to hundreds of millions of VND.

According to Mr. Le Van Thinh, Director of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs (LĐ-TB&XH) of Ho Chi Minh City, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year At Ty 2025, the city will organize many activities to take care of Tet for workers and laborers, and give gifts to families with preferential policies.

The total estimated budget for this period is about VND 975 billion. Of which, the central budget is about VND 16.5 billion, the city budget is about VND 908 billion and mobilized more than VND 50 billion. Ho Chi Minh City also directed trade unions at all levels to pay attention to taking care of union members with an estimated amount of over VND 500,000 /case, with a budget of about VND 500 billion.

In Binh Duong, Mr. Pham Van Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Binh Duong province, said that compared to last year, the production situation of enterprises in the area has stabilized, along with an increase in basic salary and allowances, helping to improve the Tet bonus. Of nearly 1,700 enterprises reporting, the average bonus was VND8.77 million/person, an increase of nearly 29% compared to last year. The highest bonus was up to VND375 million, belonging to a foreign-invested enterprise.

Mr. Nguyen Dai Tanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Long An province, said that enterprises are making efforts to maintain the average Tet bonus of VND8.5 million/person and the lowest is VND1 million/person for new employees who have worked for less than 12 months. Up to now, 968 enterprises in the area have reported the expected Tet bonus for the year of the Snake 2025, with a total scale of 127,232 employees. Notably, a foreign-invested enterprise in Long An has a high Tet bonus, in which an individual received the highest bonus of VND 519 million.

Mr. Pham Xuan Hong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Textile and Garment Embroidery Association, said that the export turnover of the Vietnamese textile and garment industry this year has reached the target, expected to be US $45 billion. According to records, most enterprises have stable orders, especially in the last six months of the year, the situation has warmed up, production results are good. This is the most positive signal for the industry since the outbreak, although spending more on Tet bonuses, enterprises are excited.

Good orders are expected to continue into next year. Orders are growing but enterprises are facing labor shortage problems. Therefore, businesses will do their best with salary, bonus and welfare policies to support loyal employees and attract new human resources, Mr. Hong said.
