Numerous FDI enterprises face suspension of customs procedures due to tax debt

According to the HCM City Customs Department, on December 9, 2024, the Investment Customs Branch issued a decision to suspend customs procedures for the import and export of goods belonging to 69-Any Traffic Construction Joint Stock Company (Tax ID: 0305733072), headquartered at 420 Street No. 16, Zone B, An Phu Ward, Thu Duc City, HCM City.
The suspension was enacted after the company failed to comply with Notification No. 2351/TB-ĐT dated December 3, 2024, issued by the Investment Customs Branch, regarding unpaid taxes and late payment fees. The company has tax debts exceeding 90 days past the due date, amounting to more than VND734 million.
69-Any Traffic Construction Joint Stock Company is a state enterprise jointly invested by foreign stakeholders. The company, represented legally by Mr./Ms. Jung Tae Sung, was granted a business registration certificate on June 3, 2008, with its primary business activity being civil engineering construction.
Prior to this, at the request of the HCM City Tax Department, the Investment Customs Branch issued a decision to suspend customs procedures for the export and import activities of Gruenkorn & Partner Law Co., Ltd. (Tax ID: 0312677781). The decision took effect on December 6, 2024.
Gruenkorn & Partner Law Co., Ltd., a 100% foreign-invested enterprise, was found to have overdue tax debts exceeding 90 days past the prescribed deadline, with total liabilities amounting to over VND892 million. The company, represented legally by Mr./Ms. Wolfram Wilbert Gruenkorn, received its business registration certificate on March 6, 2014, and its primary business activity is legal representation and consulting. The company operates under the management of the HCM City Tax Department.
The coercive measures issued by Customs authorities are valid for a period of one year. The suspension of customs procedures will be lifted immediately upon full payment of outstanding tax debts into the state budget.
