Quang Tri Customs seizes 1,266 bottles of foreign alcohol of unknown origin

Customs officers inspect the car.

On July 5, while patrolling and controlling to combat smuggling in the customs control area, the Customs Enforcement Team was notified that the passenger car with license plate 74B-006.42 transporting smuggled goods to Lao Bao-Dong Ha.

Specifically, at km 74+800, Highway 9 in Tan Long commune, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province, the Customs force requested the driver of the car as Mr. Le Thanh Quang to stop the car and take it to the Team’s headquarters to conduct an inspection.

As a result of the inspection, the Customs discovered 1,266 bottles of foreign alcohol in the the car, including: 240 bottles of BACARDIX wine, 204 bottles of Whiskey Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon wine, 12 bottles of JACK DANIEL'S…. The total value of goods is estimated at more than VND400 million.

At the time of inspection, Mr. Le Thanh Quang could not present documents and to prove the legal origin of the foreign alcohol.

Currently, the case is investigated and handled by the Team in accordance with regulations.
